Trump publicly tries to blackmail CNN

I'm surprised no one posted this when it happened a day or two.. Trump's WH advisors publicly stated they are looking at blocking CNN & Time Warner's merger because they think Trump is treated unfairly on CNN. They want more favorable coverage for Trump..

That's straight up attempt at blackmail and abuse of power. Threatening use of govt intervention if they don't stop being so critical of him..

It's just insane that he can publicly make treats like this and an entire segment of our govt turns a blind eye to it. It's 1000% abuse of power. For the record I'm 100% against these giant mergers, these companies are getting too big and too powerful.

Yet now Trump has stupidly put himself in the position of publicly blackmailing CNN which now hampers the ability of those looking at this merger. Now if they say no, CNN/TW will be hitting the courts saying the WH abused it's power because they didn't like CNN's reporting. Trump's stupidity and threats will now cost tax payers millions...

It's all fucking insane how crazy the right wing has become. If you asked me a year ago if I thought revolution was possible in America, I'd say no.. Today.. I start to think the gun is only thing that will stop these corrupt right wing fucks from destroying our democracy..

The right wing is now led by multinational big business fascists who leverage hate & fear to control and increasingly ignorant minority of the populous to acquire power. The problem is their legislation works against their base and they're too greedy to pace themselves and prioritize wisely.

They've really fucked up with healthcare and lower level GOP businessmen are not liking the blackmail threat to CNN because they know if Trump will blackmail CNN, he'll blackmail anyone that doesn't do what the 71 year old morbidly obese dictator demands.

Trump, and the GOP , have both used up so much political capital the last six months on fruitless endeavors, they're close to being totally fucked with their base.

Trump seems to think he can get the press to like him. It doesn't work that way.

Trump can block this merger all he wants. It's not going to punish CNN, and CNN will continue to operate as it has been.

Some people claim CNN is biased. I'm not seeing it. CNN was all about Benghazi and email severs before the election. It's reporting what it thinks is news. Right now everything coming out of the White House is negative. Trump just went to the G20 and everything that came out of it is bad - He met with Putin, they disagree with what was discussed, nothing came out of it so far as the meddling in our election, his daughter - utterly unqualified for anything other than selling shoes and purses - somehow managed to sit at the main table, while all of the countries moved forward with climate agreement.... There is just no positive news coming out of the White House these days.

Of course Robbie will argue that Trump has signed "more than one hundred bills" into law.... Sorry, signing a piece of paper undoing what the last guy did or naming a park or building is not what I call a bill or a law. He's been in office six months and has yet to sign a major bill into law. Fuck me raw with a cactus in a phone booth - He can't even staff the White House.

This doesn't even mention his campaign and administration are under investigation.

Trump's administration is going down exactly how I expected it to happen - full of scandal and nothing is getting done.

You frequently talk about the violent overthrowing of our government witch is nonsensical. We have the power of the vote so we do not have to violently overthrow the government. Every two years, four years and six years the opportunity exists to replace those in power if the people choose to do so.

Your vote only matters if politicians are working for you the people. If your politicians nolonger represent the will of the people then you vote is worthless.

Currently our govt is mostly working for large corporations and special interest. The govt has to fear the people for democracy to work. Currently the govt does not fear the people and ingores their will.

You deserve only the rights you are willing to fight for and its coming time we will have to fight or deserve nothing.. People have become far to complacent in this country and our govt has taken advantage.

You dont have to overthrow govts, such as ours, we have good systems set in place. We just have to put the fear of the people in to their corrupted little hearts.

OWS was a good example of putting a little fear in their hearts, but due to that movement having unreasonable demands and no real leadership it was easy for the govt to strangle...

We need another OWS like movement with clear reasonable goals and solid leadership to force those goals into action.

He won't go to jail, the only punishment a sitting president can get is impeachment. Once impeached that could go after him again but most likely as long as he went away he would be left to not serve time for his crimes..
