There are far more credible studies that equate constant conspiracy hunting and believing them as all factual happenings is a very strong sign of mental illness.

Clinton lost because more and more Americans realise she's part of the problem and not a solution.

Trump won because he promised to build a wall, stop jobs flowing out of the US and stem imports.

If the rules were different, Trump would have fought differently. Whether he would have won is unknown, but it doesn't matter. I will give you that the American politics is corrupt. But should come as no surprise to you. I'm only surprised you think it's only about Trump.
