It has been considered for a while now, and is being considered again. Sure fucking around is one thing, but with the current political climate around the world, it seems like now is an even better time to make this move and bring FUCKING Around back to fun discussions and bullshit and actual business in the main forum. While keeping the more serious stuff else where.

If you notice 90% of the fake nicks around here are spewing far right wing none sense. They will continue to do so in the main forum as they wont care if their fake nicks get banned..

So I say Im all for it as long as you hunt out the abusers of fake nicks and ban them.. karmon, joushaG, vendzilla ect..ect.. With out going after the people behind the fake nicks it will be the same shit show in the main.

There's no way it could be enforced. Politics gets brought up in every discussion now. Not just here, everywhere. A couple of my friends are arguing politics in a facebook Irma discussion right now. Same thing happened here.

I actually just noticed how french/russian/spanish lang webmaster boards have far more business topics then gfy and xbiz which both become political boards instead being service for industry. So i started to think to learn those languages since gfy nor xbiz are no longer places for doing business.

They'll do it by bringing politics into all the threads via posts, instead of creating actual political threads. Whether they are fake or not, new alt-right nics pop up to take the place of banned ones. (I.e. a 14 year old nic with 3 posts pops up an alt-right nic and posting like he knows everyone)

I think a political forum is an awesome idea. I see GFY as an adult industry board still and don't want it to be swallowed by a political ideology. I hope it's enforced and followed if implemented I'm down

You're going to do what you're going to do but a few things to consider. This is the "fucking around section" There is a mainstream section but no real dedicated adult section. Grant it this use to be but it has morphed into purely fucking around. Here's what I suggest. Create a Adult business section for those who claim they want to discuss business. My bet is that section will be just as much as a ghost town as the mainstream section is and just like every other industry specific related forum is online. Outside of that you may as well leave it alone if you want the board to continue on and active. I've been a member of pretty much all of the main industry boards since the early 00's. I don't visit any of them any longer and apparently no one else does either. Visit WHT for an example if you haven't lately.

I don't know that a split into new forums is necessary or if that will solve anything.

The negative tone throughout has been amplified to the point that it is difficult to read any threads without encountering hate.

I am not sure how you combat that without just straight censorship and I really do not like censorship.

So, I am not sure of what the best thing to do is.

Also a good idea. Eric it's no secret that a few people here have multiple accounts. Controlling this would make business threads more interesting , the new political thread more relevant. Please consider Crocket's request. Letting multi-account idiots boost their own threads by pretending to be someone else severs no one.

The VBulletin software has a function that lets the webmaster move messages from one thread to another. Hopefully Eric can take a few minutes to moderate GFY this way. A warning to ban the user if he does it again should be enough to control things.

Eric, Maybe OnWebCam's is idea is a good idea too. If you went this route, the only thing I might suggest is that the new "Adult business" section be at the very top of the list so it receives more clicks. Just a suggestion.

Also a good point. I for one would like to see the Hate speech on GFY result in banned users. There might have been a few jokes back in the day, but now the hate on GFY is better suited for Stormfront.

Yeah, it has become more 'Fucking Around' than Program Discussion around here. I for one would like to see more heated debates over Internet practices, general business and adult business topics.
