He already rolled back the law that limited the amount of toxic waste companies could pour into rivers and streams. Apparently, Republicans think they can breathe and drink money.

This FUCKTARD Chump is doing all he can to appease his cronies, so that when he finally gets fired from the White House, which he will, he will have lots of business allies to help him in his corrupt business dealings.

Trump's mindset is 50 years behind the times.

Hopefully, the midterm elections will change the balance of power and either there will be nothing done with Trump vetoing legislation all the time or Mr. Orange Fat Head will have to learn some humility and compromise with an opposition led Congress.

Pretty much all "safety regulations" were put there and lobbied by the top corporations.

Compliance is burdensome and expensive. This benefits the top corporations who plan for these regulations, and in turn, it squashes out the competition who can't afford to comply.

Another reason these regulations are put in place is to spur the emergence of alternative technologies, pretty much all of which the politicians invest heavily in.

The very last thing top corporations want is a free and open market place in which competition can easily dethrone them; regulation is one powerful way they can maintain control. It's a myth to believe that corporations hate regulation, they thrive on it.

Listen, the government doesn't give a fuck about your safety. It's about money and it always has been.

You'd think "entrepreneurs" would see this.

If I was going to build products that used toxic materials or produced toxic byproducts, there is no way in hell I would do it without respecting every single environmental law, guideline and recommendation, times 100. I could never ever intentionally create more pollution just to save money.

But let's turn this around. Would you be happy if an entrepreneur was allowed to pollute next-door to you now that Trump was in charge? The green space that Obama had fought to protect for your health was now wiped out and covered with brown stinky toxic goo just because Trump wants to be a twat? I don't think so.

Nah, in this day and age of the internet and the rate at which media spreads, I would never build products that used toxic materials..

Prior to the internet, I could get away with it because many times, mainstream media were bribed to keep things quiet. But now that the average joe has been given a voice on the internet, businesses can't get away with that shit anymore. This affects reputation, which ultimately makes a business unprofitable.

I'm not worried about the antiquated fears that some company is going to destroy the earth because the strong arm of the government (ironically, governments who are the biggest polluters on earth) isn't grabbing their necks.

I pretty much agree with that, but, don't think you will get many to believe it.
I have been pointing it out since I first seen it over 20 years ago.
For many years the government and eco groups wanted to do something about containment in fuel stations where many times leaks in the soil from tanks as gas stations and airports and fuel depots were getting into water supply's.
The industry resisted and nothing happened. But then the oil company's lobbied and got passed a stiff set of regulations to stop it.
Why...?
It was a tool to force many independents out or aligning them to purchase fuel from the financier of the expensive containment systems.

Just one example of many. And no matter how much or as many times I prove my point, most will still not believe what is right in front of them.
So good luck in getting anyone to believe you ! Let alone doing anything about it.

Ya know...
I have always felt that if some company wants to move to China just to pollute the air and water on the cheap, let'm.

If the Chinese are willing to put up with the cancers, birth defects and other things that come from this, they deserve it.
But it's a pretty hard sell to me for what good is a job if my life expectancy is cut in half and I can't enjoy that half.

Since large scale industrial development has only come about in the last 20 years in China, we should start to learn of how many have problems from it any time now. The Air problems they face are 3x larger than the smog problems of California in the 70's.

Just as it took us 20 years to learn about mercury and lead after WW2. But today, we have 1000's of man made chemicals in products that we use everyday that really have not been studied and by the time many are found to be harmful, the company that made them will be long gone.

But know that China has put more Solar energy systems online now than perhaps the rest of the world combined. Getting close to it anyway.
They seem to be taking steps to fix their future today without affecting development. Even enhancing the workforce.
When will the US wake up to the idea.
Those coal jobs are going away no matter. Question is, who do you want to buy solar panels from ?

My local electric company has stopped me from doing solar 'net metering' on the cheap. The want to charge me to provide electric to the grid.

That monopolistic behavior makes me just want to go a little further over the edge and double my array and eliminate their need all together. I did set-up just such a system for a guy in a neighboring state. Perhaps I may sell my surplus to the neighbors directly. At 15.8 cents a delivered kilowatt hour, I'm sure I can make a buck from it. Funny, before deregulation, it was 8.65 cents a KWH delivered costs.
Especially when you consider that the US electric grid was built on eminent domain practices and they want to charge for it's use.
Hows that fix those coal jobs if I don't need them anymore ?

It's not the idea of saving money anymore for me. It's the idea of being beholdant to a monopoly. And I doubt anyone likes that. After I have showed what a fully independent energy system looks like, dozens of folks in the area are building their own now. And I live in some of the most overcast sky's in the nation where there is sparse seasonal grade 3 wind.

But most of the coal jobs that have disappeared, went they way of less demand from china needing to import coal and shortly afterwards, cheap gas from fracking that still has not all made it to the pipe yet.

The energy company's got to craft their de-regulation exactly how they wanted it, now they got to live with it and they are crying foul and trying to blame it on someone other than their own stupidity.
That plays well with shareholders and those that lost their job, but what about everyone else ?
OK... they rid-us of the proposed future rules, who they going to blame the future job losses on ?
They own the issue now.

I know! And this is really exciting. Many other parts of the world are now balls-deep into solar and wind. It's such good news to me you have no idea.

What sucks though is that it looks like the US will fall way, way behind on this. Not only will they lose the chance to innovate, but lose on the money it will bring. If you're American and you want to invest in green energy, you have you invest in foreign markets now because of Donald Trump. More money for smart investors, less American Jerbs, more pollution and therefore more sick people, and higher costs of medical care and insurance.

But, Trump, right?

But, Trump, right?
Just so you know, all alt energy programs are going forward in the US without the government.
A company I work for from time to time just completed a 'peak' energy storage facility in San Diego CA. last year. It takes alt energy and stores it until a utility is buying on peak demand which pays the highest KWH rate. Together all the working pieces have yet to fall into place in the US in a collaborative fashion. But it will, 'cause there is money in it now' and you can't stop it unless they find a way to penalize it. So that is what I fear going forward.

Elon Musk has some new things to reveal in the coming year in this area, but others do as well. I don't think they can stop it in any case.
So I really see the recent roll-back of future regulation much to do about nothing other than the image of the big picture itself. For now anyway.
But these bone-heads own the issue now. How they going to take credit for what really happens ?

I have warned the local activist not to be anti-coal but pro alt energy.
Sell the jobs as the pro-coal folks do.
I border a major coal production area and fracking as well. And the main coal production left is for metallurgic coal for steel production.
There are probably 12 coal fired plants in my area with plans to build a gas one while they tear down some of the coal plants to make a gas plant in the same place.
2 Nuke's all within 30 miles of home. So it is a tough sell here. And they won't see it unless you show them. JOBS JOBS JOBS.

Ohio has some of the best wind energy off shore in lake Erie that the state could be a net exporter of wind energy, but where is there a tax break for that. It's been well known since 2004. It could be one of the largest wind farms in the nation.
JOBS JOBS JOBS
I could go on but I'm sure I have burned a few eyeballs as it is.
