Out of the Game since 2007 - Where to start getting back in.

Hey, so I was a webmaster from 2003 to end of the decade more or less. I made good money and then left the industry, I've still living off some of the money I made during that time. At one point I was earning $50k / month.

I used to make network sites mainly (DELUXEPASS) etc, I had an MGP and would also post my galleries to MGPs/TGP's for various sponsors and make money that way. I also dabbled in making software. I got out of the industry before the Porn Tubes sites kicked off.

I'd really like to get back into it but obviously things have changed so much so it's really difficult to know where to start. The business I knew no longer exists, just from looking around it seems it's harder to make money but there's way more ways to make money.

Skills wise, I'm mainly a designer but my best friend is a developer and we're hoping to start something together.

One thing I don't really understand....back when I did things. The MGP/TGP sites mainly got traffic from trading traffic with each other. So on every site, you'd have a list of other sites, backlinks, blind links etc.... I don't really see the TUBE sites doing that anymore, is that correct?

Right, no one trades traffic any more. It's all SEO, social, and paid.

Problem is, search traffic is mostly going to big, established companies/websites that you can't compete with.

Social traffic is better monetized sending it directly to offers/landers, not trying to promote some dumb niche site.

Paid traffic is its own beast. Positive ROI is fucking hard to achieve.

Personally I'm trying to get *out* of adult, and I still make a good living with my sites. There's just no good opportunities left, it seems like.

It is harder than before for smaller affiliates, but you can still make a decent living with porn sites. Go with the niche you are interested in the most, check out for keywords that you want to rank for on Google and see what kind of sites rank high, most of the time you will see adult tubes.

Making and designing site is NO big deal.... A whole bunch of members here will built you one for a few thou....but to make money, you need to create content: new, unique and good. Recycling others shit will not make you much unless you are xHamster. People will NOT pay for recycled garbage. They get it from tubes for free. They will only pay for new material.

Can I ask why you have decided to 'get back in' ?

It seems you planned your exit very well, so I am very curious.

Social traffic is huge. Getting a few girls on instagram & twitter with huge followers to 'promote' your site is what is needed now.

If you can do that you will make good money.

We are trying to do this with Directory | Find Cam Girls | Hottest Babes but it is hard and slow.
