They don't make 'em like they used to. I've pretty much had enough of cgi.

I just rewatched John Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13 to cleanse my palate of the unending glut of recent throwaway comic book movies.

Epic movie. And the special effects are cool to this day.

Hi Grape,

Yes I've seen this movie several times. LOVE IT. It's really really freaking good. I wish the ending didn't seem so religious, but otherwise its great.

You should also watch Forbidden Planet (1953 I think). If you've never seen it, its by far one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. The VFX look surprisingly good too.

Ok so it's a fake documentary, a guy they just interviewed seemed like an actor so I Googled it. Looked cool until I realized it was fake, still watching though.

It was clever until the guy 10 mins in that they "interviewed" who was a bad actor. They should have cut him out of the movie and I'd never known it was a work of fiction until the end. Not bad though they got the documentary style of filmaking down pat.

Rudy Valentino dies and goes to heaven. St Peter tells Rudy they have a film project for him... Shakespeare is writing the script, Michelangelo is doing the set design, while Mozart is doing the music.... Rudy is pumped... St Peter admits there is one small issue though..... god has this girlfriend....

I remember watching this when I was a kid, it played several times and I watched it every time. I only found out recently that my grandma on my dad's side was one of those people who got scared by the original radio show. At the time (1938) my dad was 2 years old and my grandpa was working late. My grandma turned on the radio and only listened for a few minutes so she didn't hear any of the warnings/announcements. She freaked out, got in the car with my dad and drove to my grandpa's work where they were all listening to it. I guess she got really angry because they thought she was joking about being scared so they made fun of her.
