Are these sponsor terms acceptable ?

Hey guys,

I have a question about some terms a sponsor has given me,

So for about a year now I have been running a tube site,

But recently we migrated over to a new cms platform, so I started contacting my sponsors one by one to fill them in with our site migration.

When contacting one major sponsor in particular about our situation I asked them if there where a way to get a dump file with cropped videos rather me personally cropping my own videos. (WHICH CAN BE VERY TIME CONSUMING, AND NOT VERY PRODUCTIVE)

I was told that I can get dump files with videos only under certain conditions.

I would have to send them traffic in return (OBVIOUSLY AS WE ARE AFFILIATE CONTENT BASED)

We always place banners under and besides sponsors videos to fulfill this mutual agreement to use content.

But this sponsor, I don't know if I'm being sensitive, but this sponsor wants me to place ads besides other sponsors videos along side theirs.

Plus they want there mobile ad displayed above all videos on the mobile version of my site.

When I asked whether or not I would get in trouble for placing there ads on other sponsors videos this is the response I got.

"no u cant get in trouble cause all these other smaller companies want their vids out there to get publicity"

When I challenged there terms I was indirectly threatened.

If I agreed to use there content I must agree to there terms or their lawyers would have to contact DMCA and GOOGLE.

I would apparently receive a big slap from google and be dropped really badly in ranking.

I don't feel like this is fair to other sponsors, and I don't like the feeling of being controlled by anyone but me in my business.

Here is what my sponsor said when I agreed to there terms to use content.

"dont forget to place our mobile ads etc....
or our legal department will have to contact our friends at google
anything else u need let us know"

Let me known what you think is the best thing for me to do ?

Should I of agreed to the terms ?

Are these terms fair to me and other sponsors ?

Let me know by leaving a comment below.

Well if they are a "Major" sponsor they are probably on this board and reading this anyway, in which case their "friends at google" will turn up outside your house and skullfuck you. Name and shame!

Honestly, what a load of shit. I don't think anyone can tell you how to place ads on your site as long as you are displaying the correct ads for the right content that is as much as anyone is expected to do.

Tell them to

It sounds more like an affiliate rep is trying to get his commission and sound like a hard ass than anything true.

"... our legal department will have to contact our friends at google" lol, k. Even if they are THE major sponsor, then that's still a load of shit. Google wouldn't participate in collusion with a porn company to help them deliver ads on more sites.
