language is super interesting to me... are you aware that the southern dialect is a dialect from western England that is no longer used in merry ole just as the 'French' dialect in nolo is no longer used in France... language is a great way to track a people...

for instance Magyar's is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_language -related to Finish... another interesting thing is the relationship between Germanic languages and Celtic languages in relation to 'modern english' everything is always connected somewhere...

Actually, I just said it out loud a few times, and I actually say mounT(in) as in 'Tin Can' - For me to say 'tain' I'd have to be trying to speak in an exceptionally posh, over the top way.

Both British and American English says the T, the difference is "tain" or "tin"

cool, I always think BBC, I go somewhere between in-en, as in Tin and Ten. I do have southern cultural roots. i.e. Celtic cultural roots. is your identity more saxon or celtic? interesting stuff to me...

Mountin. The only words I pronounce differently are those with R in them, like ‘car’ is ‘cah’.
But ‘perfect’ is ‘perfekt’.

In this area or a little North, they mispronounce many words. New ‘Bedford’ is New ‘Beffa’, wrestling is ‘rasslin’, himself is ‘hisself’, etc

Worst pronunciation I ever heard was in Boston, Cambridge actually. Woman from Medford (Meffa) told me she had eggs for ‘breffasiz’. Breakfasts
