Russia is a declining power with nothing on the table to change that just policy to expedite the process. Putin will leave Russians in misery for generations.

GDP Russia= 1.283 trillion USD (Population 144.3 million)
GDP China= 11.2 trillion USD (Population 1.379 billion)

GDP Australia = 1.205 trillion USD (Population 24.13 million)
GDP USA = 18.57 ( Population USA 325.7 million )

compare to 2008:

GDP Russia= 1.661 trillion
GDP China= 4.598 trillion
GDP Aus =1.055 trillion
GDP USA =14.72 trillion

Just based on GDP.. Russia's on the way out, America is doing fucking great, Australia's stagnated, and China is off the charts!

As far as trade and power goes no one is more powerful than China, most wealthy countries are totally dependant on Chinese trade now. That position just gets stronger by the day, compare GDP's to 2008.

Depends on what do you mean. By money/industry - course China (it's more powerful than the USA too). By the military power the answer is Russia.

Don't even mention the Russian GDP, because it's a fake. The main flow of money here is "black". It avoids taxes and course it is not included into our GDP. When someone gives you a suitcase with a million dollars (literally) for some service or real estate, will it be included into the official GDP? Course no, it won't. What if every second employee gets the salary in the envelope (yes, in cash and nobody knows the real amount)? The Russian economics works like this. The amount of the "black" money flow is estimated as much bigger than the official one. And yes, it's a corruption and a tax evasion is a national sport here. If in the States and China nobody will even tell about it, but here the people are proud of how many they didn't pay to the budget. In the States you'll get a prison time for that. In China you will be executed. In Russia you will be just fined for the amount of the unpaid tax... if you will be caught. So please don't use such a term as GDP in relation to Russia because it means NOTHING.

Also about taxes (if you pay them well). For example, I pay 6% and that's a fixed value (doesn't matter how much I earn). How much does pay an average US or Australian citizen? This is a large part of your GDP, by the way. So once again: Russian GDP is not an indicator of anything.

Its irrelevant how fudged Russia is.. GDP is worked out two ways and the average is used, what you spent vs what you earned. 1600 billion is hard to fudge cos those multibillion dollar gas deals.. are on the books. 80% of you countries earnings are coming in that way so no matter how corrupt the system looks, Russia are the one set of statistics that are going to be the most correct.... simply because of, limited revenue source's.

And even if you want to forget that..

Russia GDP 2013 = 2.2
Russia GDP 2014 = 2.0
Russia GDP 2015 = 1.3

See why Russia needed Obama out now ^^, still won't stop the trend though Russia is a declining power. The only country nearing comparison with China is the USA, but even that's just a moment in time, Chinas doing 10x the business with other countries that the USA is doing.

GDP is the internal money. The money you spend for taxes, the money you pay for the medicine, the money you pay for the education, the money to the military, the money you spend to the police which beats you, etc. I pay 6% tax, you pay 22.7%, so your GDP should be at least 4x times higher. This is how the GDP is being counted.

So if you pay 4x more tax than me, it makes your life better (because the GDP is higher), right?

Course not. People earn billions of dollars here as a cash in the envelope and spend it in the UK, Cyprus, USA etc. So nobody knows the real amount. Nobody pays taxes from that. Nobody pays taxes from real estate renting. Nobody pays taxes from taxi services etc. What the Russian the GDP should be calculated from? In the UK even the prostitution money is included into the GDP. Do you know how many 10's of thousands of prostitutes work just only in Moscow? Do you know how much they charge per hour? Do you know the amount of bribes they pay to police? Do you know that Russian oil and gas companies do 20% bribes (откаты) to their partners and to the officials? These are billions, billions and billions of dollars and nobody counts them to include into the GDP. Your official salary is 20,000 rubles but you receive 200,000 in the envelope. In cash. So Russian GDP does mean nothing. It's some fake number taken from the Putin's moth.

Yes, this is a corruption and thievery, but the GDP has no relation to the Russian economics at all.



This is a good song, which says it all about Russia today. We have a low GDP, but our citizens have bought the most expensive realty in London, Dubai, Miami Beach etc. Some violin players have two billions of dollars (2 billions of USD, do you understand it, Karl?) in South America etc. That's because the money here is "black" and it's not included into GDP. Yes again, it's called a corruption.
