Business Sony Vegas question, only experts inside please

my sony vegas 8 project when rendering in high quality it crashes (too heavy, many things, different cameras, mp3, formats, etc)

I am installing sony vegas 13 , update, sony vegas 13 is not installing correctly on old computer

1.- can I open a sonyvegas8 project on 13 version?

if not work I will install the program on a more modern computer:

2.- need to install sony vegas 8 on the new computer to make it work? or need to go with the latest one?

this problem is growing my ulcer, any help is welcome thanks GFY

I think it’s up to 16 now. If you install 13 (13 sucks btw) you will only be able to use 13 on that project file. 13 will open 8. 8 wont open 13. I’d use at least 14.

I use v. 16 on a HP z440 with a Nvidia card. The drivers are better at gpu accelerating now, the 13 and 14 pissed me off, but 15 and 16 are better. Better product with the new owners so far

8 is a relic..i would upgrade to the latest. if u have projects in 8 it should open using v13.
