Possible Traffic Method?

I thought of this the other day and did a bit of a test.

There are lots of videos on Pornhub & XVideos and other tubes where uploaders have included a domain as a watermark or text on the video.

I found one that looked odd to me and I did a whois, the domain wasn't registered anymore.

I've registered it, put a TGP on it and have had over 420 visitors in the past 24 hours.

It's not indexed by Google and it's all direct entry traffic.

I'm sharing this idea because I am not going to go trawling tubes for domains, but someone might find this method useful.

AdultKing -

Just need to be careful since most of those videos are using stolen content, might get an angry email or 2 about using someone's content with your url stamped all over it Even though it wasn't you posting it

Yeah I've considered that. However the domain creation date is well after the videos were posted and I have used a different niche for the TGP than the videos were targeting.

I'm happy to get a few complaints, I'll just refer them to the domain creation date and tell them to take it up with the tubes.

I've only done one domain, it's not a method I'll be using in future, which is why I have shared it.

I've noticed that as well and registered these domains a few times for extra traffic

I've done this before and never had any complaints. Like you say, the whois creation date resolves you of any infraction in my book.

However I feel like watermark traffic has dropped in the last 10 years. I've put this down to an increase in mobile views. I know I'm much less likely to go to the bother of typing in a domain using my thumbs on a mobile than on a keyboard. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed a down trend? Perhaps also the sheer number of spammy watermarked videos online is a factor?

Didn't try this method exactly but something similar... the traffic was good but poor quality.

Yeah, it's bad enough being on a desktop and doing it. Nobody has the time to remember a domain and hand type it on their phone.

In the first 24 hours I made $3.90 with Crak.

That's 1/3 of the domain cost
