This will help move businesses, the likes of Novogara and OVH, out of Europe and into Southeast Asia. Asian hosts have got to be ecstatic about this decision.

Btw, I think this whole thing is a joke. Google threw $1B into content ID, for youtube, and one guy figured out that if you do
PIP (Picture in Picture) or change the gamma just a tad.. you have effectively circumvented it.

Effective laws for copyright infringement are needed. To be able to block an entire hosing company because they allow pirated content on their servers is called for.

I thought you were strongly against this EU directive Paul?

I'm not supporting theft of intellectual property but I do support internet freedom and if this is fully implemented we're losing out big time.

See my post above. YouTube's filters cost over a billion dollars and they are basically worthless causing more havoc than anything. You should see the amount of strikes legitimate content producers get from passive algorithms.
Like I said, this is a joke. They simply need to enforce laws on the books already. Then again, I get it.. resources. The feds told me that unless there are guns or drugs involved, do not contact them about porn piracy.

I completely agree, the real will power to enforce laws is none existing. Further more I and many with me believe this new directive is dressed to combat this but the real purpose is to shrink and control information on the internet. Simply put a tool for the EU to censor internet.

I recently found a lawyer who takes copyright infringement cases on contingency. He sued someone who stole one of my images the same day I contacted him, and negotiated a settlement within three weeks.

Raise your attorney located? My attorney took 6 months to get my last settlement. So happy with the outcome. He's in the LA area.

I have a few judgments from doing this same thing. All uncollectable.
