I agree its a fine line. I dont think the "fucking around" section should be only business. For example I didnt move the ethiopian trees thread and few others either. If people start overdoing it with the non political, we will deal with it accordingly.

Would be easier to let it like it was, less work, more page views and activity etc etc.

Its time though to make GFY great again :p

That's what I'm getting at.. the politics isn't the cause it's the symptom. Meaning if you only remove political topics exclusively other non industry related stuff will take it's place..

The people who complain about the politics will then complain about the other stuff as well..

The key issue is this is no longer a affiliate porn board because the affiliate model was killed off. There simply is not enough business left to talk about. They would be smarter to have made a "business only" forum but of course that didn't work, because we already have one and none of these people who cry about no porn business ever posted there..

The point being GFY hasn't been a porn board for years not because of bullshit posts, but because the market died for the webmasters who posted here..

You have to go either all or nothing.. because politics will just get replaced with other useless shit that someone will whine about. There wont be some sudden replacement with 'business" topics..

You will get a handful of people posting business topics for a few days maybe a week then they will get bored because no one replies in their posts and it will be filled with useless shit..

The smart money would be make a "white listed" business forum with heavy moderation but let anyone join who asked but then kick them if they post bull shit.

Then turn the rest of the form into a mainstream adult social network site like Reddit or something.. If it were me.. I'd do exactly that.. Make the business end private & hidden with white listing access but then actually go out to attract the bull shit stuff and use that to sell porn to them..

Crocket is right, Xanadu. On GFY, People post about politics to state and argue their personal opinions. Some even do it to reinforce their own belief such as WeHatePorn and his anti-science crap, and Vendildo's anti-immigrant shit.

If you're going to move Political Discussions to another thread, Then you are going to have to move other subjects there too. If you are going to do that, then either prepare for some backlash from people who don't want to be lumped into that category, and for a drop in GFY traffic.

Moving which is by far the most popular subjects on GFY to the very bottom of the list is a traffic killer too.

I agree that something should be done, but I'm not sure this is the best way.

Nevertheless a lot of people have stopped participating because of what has been going on and this had to stop. Sometimes change is painful.

What I was saying was when you make a post in the politics & more section, the new post/thread goes to the bottom of the page. The oldest threads are at the top of the page. The setting needs to be reversed so new threads/posts go to the top of the page... not the bottom

Mark if it was just regarding lgbt rights I wouldn’t have moved it, you answered why yourself. The same will happen to many threads that cross the line.

And yes, it’s a fine line sometimes, mistakes will happen, feel free to contact and we will do our best to fix them.

As for sigs, dully noted, we will look into that in general also.

When things cool down, I am all about moving popular political threads back to the main section, we don’t live in a bubble.
