Amazon is Huge

I just drove from Sacraento to Southern California today. We saw hundreds of Amazon Prime trucks. When we got here we are a few blocks from an Amazon warehouse. The building itself is fucking massive, three city blocks long. There was two dozen trucks in line waiting to offload product.

Driving to Freetown from here you’ll go by a huge Amazon warehouse with the trucks out back in view of the highway. There were about fifty trucks backed in for loading midday plus many on the side of the building.

They ran ads for employee training in Fall River but warehouse workers were only getting $15/hour. Assumptions were at least double that amount but I told people that they don’t need to pay more money to get qualified help. People want a job with reliable companies.

I’m curious about the benefits that they are offered.

They have a large office about a block away from me. And a large warehouse about 2 miles away from me.

Tesla is bigglyer !!

The first of six proposed factors for Tesla it’s currently a 1.9-million-square-foot building with 5.3 million square feet of operating space on three floors. And so far, it’s only 30% complete. When it reaches its full size, it will have the largest footprint of any building in the world.

If there is anyone that can take on Amazon head-to-head, its Walmart.

Their online presence has grown tremendously within the last year.

My brother in law works for them. He got full medical and dental on the first day. Plus stock options.

I actually looked it up.. Seems Target has the biggest US retail distribution center in the US.. I also know back several years back before Amazon was so big, Target was the number one webstore for businesses with retail space and Staples was number 2. At that time Walmart was still kinda ignoring their webpage.. (was like 7-8 years ago) and Amazon has of course dwarfed everyone since..

$15/hr is actually the low end for warehouse distribution work. Example Walmart locations actually pay in the $18/hr range to start in all but in the cheap ass southern states.. As for Truck drivers Walmart is one of the top paying company jobs out there. Their drivers make in the $100k range as a company driver with benefits

Usually most of these big B&M chains pay their store employees shit but the logistic backbone is usually paid very good. Amazon is actually one of the lowest paying large distribution networks out there. The reason being is they pull in people who wouldn't normally work at a warehouse and target those people. As result these people usually don't know their being underpaid..

To this day I am amazed that they were able to overcome that data breach.

Vacation time? First day coverage for benefits is rare but awesome.

I know that they were looking for phone operators and you needed a laptop to apply for a job. I couldn’t qualify but told a friend about it. She didn’t qualify because her baby at home cried and took her attention away from the customers. I can’t remember the pay or benefits but it wasn’t impressive. Then again, sitting at home in your pajamas while watching Netflix and answering the phone isn’t that hard.

Depends on their welfare benefits.

Online is closing offline shops by the hour. https://www.google.com/search?ei=YYl...j0.0kxFVJ3Y6Aw

By paying less, cutting staff levels, using robots and situated in lower rent area they're making more money.
