I’ll do a poll but I feel that if she’s stupid enough to wear a $2,200 blouse to a newborn baby’s ceremony, she deserves to be puked on. Dry cleaning isn’t very costly and if it can’t be dry-cleaned, lesson learned.

There's a community on Reddit called "Am I The Asshole?" It's a place where people can describe a tense situation they found themselves in, and ask thousands of internet strangers whether or not they behaved like an asshole.

Needless to say, the conversations get heated — it can be very addicting to read!!!

So this week, a new mother posted her dilemma to AITA and it quickly went viral — with nearly 10,000 people jumping into the comments to argue over whether or not she's a jerk. Let's break this down.

"I gave birth four weeks ago," the OP wrote. "And we decided to have a 'baby ceremony,' where everyone gets to meet our lovely daughter Charlotte."

One of the invitees was her cousin, Alice, who apparently spends a lot of money on her clothing:

The day of the baby ceremony arrives, Alice shows up, and the party quickly turns into a disaster:

They offered Alice a change of clothes, which she accepted, and they thought the drama was behind them. But the next day, Alice made a request that took the OP by surprise.

"They want me to reimburse the cost of the blouse (roughly £1800) since it was completely ruined," the mother writes. (Note for my fellow Americans: that's nearly $2,200.)

The mother says she is declining to pay for the stained blouse:

And so, the mother asked Reddit: Is she an asshole for refusing to cough up the money? And y'all...people are SPLIT on this.

A couple months back I went to a polo match. The day before the polo match there was 6 inches of rain. The polo field was a total disaster. Mud and horse shit everywhere, plus hay.

For most people, this is a nonissue. Put on boots. I have an electric wheelchair and I need to seriously consider how I want to handle this.

I knew it would be a disaster but fuck it I really wanted to go.

The amount of mud, crap and hay We had to dig out my wheelchair was absolutely insane. I had to take it into the shop, they took apart the wheelchair and they power washed it.

Total cost: $300

Should the arrangers of the Polo match had to pay for that? No. I went in knowing exactly what would happen and I chose to take on those risks.

You do not hold a baby with an expensive shirt on and expect to avoid disaster. The cousin is a bitch.

And if you can afford a $2,200 shirt, why would you need to ask someone else to reimburse you for it? Sounds like she's the one who is the asshole.

I had a repair guy looking at the back of my fridge to figure out why I wasn't getting water from the door dispenser. He unplugged some lines and checked them, and finally fixed the problem by unfreezing some ice that was in the lines with a portable heater.

My office is my finished basement. One day I looked up at the ceiling and there was a 2 by 2 bubble of paint hanging there. I poked my finger into it and water just poured out all over the floor. The very first thing I did was checked behind the fridge, because someone had just recently worked back there and it was also directly above where the leak was downstairs. But there was no water back there. The hardwood floor was bone dry.

After not finding the leak myself, I called a plumber. He couldn't find the mysterious leak either, even after making a couple of holes in some walls, which I gave permission to do because I really wanted to find this leak. He failed to find the leak and charged me $500 for two hours of his time. It was fucking robbery, but I paid it.

On the very same day the plumber came, later that evening I filled a water bottle from the fridge door and went downstairs to my office. I noticed the drip had started up again because i could hear it dripping in the pan outside my office. I went upstairs, pulled out the fridge but there was zero water back there. What the fuck?

I got my wife to dispense some water as I watched and saw the leak. There was a junction box for various hoses at the bottom of the fridge and water was spurting out. The crazy thing was that the floor instantly dried up after the water seeped under the baseboard. The laminate floor is water resistant, and my kitchen floor is slightly slanted from one end to the other so the water just rolled right under the baseboard without any evidence it had been there.

So the asshole repairman who was messing with the lines had failed to re-insert a fitting properly. I thought about calling the appliance store who sent him to ask for the $500 I spent on a plumber, but I figured it wouldn't be worth the effort. And there was no fucking way I was going to take anyone to court. I just consider it a life lesson.

I would with out any doubt pay for cleaning as it would keep the peace between me and my friends...

however, you don´t wear a Versace white suit to a car garage when you´re having your tyres changed or your MOT done and if you do, you certainly stay out from the area where they´re working...

therefore, go to a baby ceremony and pick it up, expect the worse, know how to handle a loaded gun lol

It was my first experience. I like trying new things. Was really cool. When the horses ran by feel the wind coming off of them.
