A lot of people got busted for that, so i advise not to use airbnb for it. In fact, if i remember correctly they denied once someone just for association with porn.

Not sure this is mainstream...

Don't get caught when doing it. If 10 people show up to a airbnb and some look like pornstars I am sure people will notice.

I have shot at some abnb in Europe and Miami without problems. But always keep it low budget and small.

Why would it be against the rules to shoot porn in an AirBNB?

So many people shot in my house in Phoenix.... One time I was suring porn and I came across porn that looked like it was shot in my kitchen and... It was!

I'm sure a lot of folks would not be comfortable knowing that their house was used for porn.

I guess but... If you rent the house out to strangers, well, they are going to do strange things in it. If I rent your house out I will attempt to bang my wife on every possible surface. Same with hotel rooms.

was that the popsicle in the pussy shoot? lol, that is the only shoot I remember in that kitchen and I was upstairs in the office as she was screaming bloody murder. Guess popsicles tend to stick to skin..

But ya if the walls of that house could talk.

I heard some girls rented an apartment where the owner had hidden cams all over the place. Eventually, the girls found out about it and the owner got banned on Airbnb. Don't know if the case got to court, but definitely be sure to search the place before going nude.

I don't use AirBnB but pretty much all that owners can do is ban you from renting their place again. As long as you don't cause any damage of course.

1. Homes are considered private property, and are subject to the restrictions set by it's owners and any HOAs that they are a part of.

A homeowner as long as they are abiding by local ordinances can stipulate, you can sleep in my home, but you cannot throw a large party or shoot video or take pictures for commercial use.

2. City ordinance may require film permits to be obtained when commercial production is taking place. A homeowner can be held legally liable for the activities of his or her paying and non paying house guests.

3. Paintings, music, literary works are protected by copywrite laws. The exterior and interior look of the home is also something considered creative and unique, and belongs exclusively to it's owner, unless they licensed that right to someone. Using any part of the home in the photo or video production without consent would be a violation of the property owners rights (both creative and in regards to privacy).

Couldn't they make you not use the content too? I don't think I would want to risk it for anything other than amateur stuff that didn't cost much to shoot.

Blah blah blah, if you rent out your overpriced property on airbnb, don't expect that all of your clients will be the ideal guests..

I suppose it all boils down to the terms and conditions AIRBNB sets

Why not find places via airbnb and negotiating a PRIVATE deal with YOUR OWN terms?

Its like anything. If you just go in and get n with it, no one is the wiser, but if you make a 'production' out of it (Pun Intended) you'll arouse suspicion and interest. Plus from what ve seen on airb&b forums, a lot of owners have cameras outside pointed at the entries and exits. This isn't to 'spy' but to ensure that parties are not taking place and agreed occupancy levels are adhered to. So Id say its gonna be risky.

You could show up with equipment disguised as luggage, and the talent just dressed down in street clothes etc, and look as 'normal' as fuck (Well we are 'normal' anyway) but end up being busted not for porn, but for 6 people going into a rental that's only been booked for the occupancy of a single couple...

Back in the day, before internet, we used to use an agency that did 'Country Cottages' You could get somewhere very remote allowing for outdoor stuff and there were no occupancy limits because they were designed to be rented to large families for weekends away. We used them all the time - Im sure the agency knew what I did, but as I never garnered any complaints, paid promptly and left the place in an acceptable condition, they were happy to have me as a customer.

In Czech we rented flats for a few days and told the agents we were shooting porn, not a problem.

In the UK we never told anyone and kept it discreet.

AirBnBs are "hot" properties, meaning that neighbors often dont like living next door to a hotel and will call the police as soon as they see something they dont like.

This happened to a client a few years ago. He rented an AirBnB in LA and within an hour or so of his shoot staring the LAPD showed up, shut him down and gave him a ticket for shooting without a permit - a misdemeanor in LA and in other cities.

All in all, to resolve the criminal case it cost him $5000 in fines, court cost and attorneys fees. He had to plead guilty and if he was caught again shooting without a permit for 3 yrs, the court would impose jail time which they had suspended in lieu of the payment of fines.

Rent AirBnBs at your own risk...

1. how did they know he was shooting porn behind closed doors?

2. shooting without permit - is this needed just for porn? or does that apply to any commercial shoot?

They knocked, came in and saw the photography equipment and lights and yes permits are needed for any commercial shoot in LA including student films.

They came in with no permit and no proof that law was broken? WTF?? Just because neighbours suspected, judging by what??

And it's commercial just because the girl gets paid for it?? Wow... so you pay a model to do a video for your collection and it is a commercial shoot??

Glad I don't need any permits here to film inside. This is ridiculous.

I think in the USA L.E can charge you with anything they like and its your self that need to prove your not guilty to the court.

Anyone can confirm this ?

I have a tiny Condo beach front in the Bahamas if anyone wants to shoot porn there.. I don't give a fuck.

But parts of the island are kind of a disaster zone right now and airport is closed.. so maybe not..

I'm not a lawyer. If you need legal advice, ask pornlaw.

In the US, the rule of thumb is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. In other words, the prosecution is required and has the burden of proof to show prima facie evidence that a defendant is guilty. If they do, the burden of proof then shifts to the defendant to prove their innocence.

Glad I don't need any permits here to film inside. This is ridiculous.
I think you meant to say search warrant... and in the US, cops do not need a search warrant to enter your property if they think there is a crime in commission and that you will destroy evidence.

Ive had cases in LA where cops jumped fences of houses and came through the backdoor and an open window while a shoot was happening without a search warrant.

Film permits are big business in LA and LAPD has an entire squad of officers and several patrol cars devoted to nothing but film permit enforcement.
