Fun and games with SONY VAIO PCG-7V1M - Any ideas?
Fucking annoying - Wont boot from USB stick AT ALL!
Bios set to allow external boot and USB top of the boot list - Internal at the bottom... Tried letting it boot, calling up the boot menu and selecting the toshiba USB (That is recognised) and still no joy. Have tried it with 3 different USB sticks, an old one, a new one and one that's a USB that holds an SD card. No luck with any of them - Just boots straight into Windows Vista EVERY TIME !!! I've tried ubuntu, peppermint, google OS and others. It just REFUSES to boot from USB irregardless of which usb I use, which USB slot I use, or what flavour of OS I try to boot into - Nope - FUCK YOU it says - Im loading windows... FML.... |

You could try changing boot mode in bios from uefi to legacy.

Unfortunately, its an older very basic bios anyway, and it doesn't have that option. I assume its already legacy by default as uefi is not mentioned anywhere at all. There's really not a lot of functions - Very basic indeed.
