Sad to hear that. Hope she'll get well.

Hey guys,

I hope all are well during this difficult time. My family in PR have been in serious lockdown for the past two months. Still can’t take a swim at the beach although they could stroll around the block with social distancing. Fortunately, their confirmed cases are under control and the death rate is smaller than expected.

Stay safe. We will get through this.

In my personal opinion, I believe this 'coronavirus' thing, will soon come back, maybe this year, or the next year... It will be even worse, than it currently is.

Stay safe people!

1. A lockbox with a combination. On the street near the apartment. Enter the code, get the keys. Put them back in after checkout.
2. 24 hour convenience store across the street. Give my name/number, get the keys.

There is also a company called Key Cafe with hundreds of locations that some people use. Similar to the lockbox solution but at a cafe or store, not on the street. There is a monthly fee for that service.

I had an airbnb with a number lock they could change from a distance. No key needed.

Welcome Gabi- we're actually based in Puerto Rico! Curfew has been extended to June 15, but they are gradually letting some businesses operate in moderation... There's a lot of controversy over this. Local offline businesses are suffering the most because of the lockdown. I just hope that, as businesses start to open their doors, people remain respectful and well aware that this isn't over yet. Stay safe!

Nice! I like those too but I want to keep the whole AirBnB thing on the down low. A fancy key pad door lock thingy might set off alarms. LOL But I do like those locks you can unlock from your phone with a code. :thumbsup

Interesting, didn't know such thing already exist, however i see culprit - what if battery dies and you dont have a hardware key? Then you stay locked out.

I know for houses you avoid the battery issue by connecting it to the doorbell wiring I think. For apartments I am not sure. But I always have 2-3 backups for keys since I am paranoid about being locked out. :)

Italy published recently official death stats for cov2 cases.

Yes, this horrible Italy, "oh nooo Italy oh no we going to die, lockdown us for life please for our safety", like many of you idiots were shouting recently.

So the stats are.
Average age of deceased due to cov2 - 80 years old.
96 % of people that died had some other health issues ongoing (hypertension, diabetes etc).

Most of them they had 3 and more ongoing health problems.
1 % of people that died because of covid were 50 years old and younger.

Gabi<3 05-26-2020 12:53 PM

On the other hand, hospitals are pressuring doctors to add Covid-19 on death certificates. Why would they do this? To maybe increase the numbers, and make it look a little bit worse than it is? We know that more testing means more reliable data on confirmed cases, but unlike earlier calculations, the death rate will be smaller and smaller, because it has been proven that the majority of people will recover and not die from Covid-19 unless their health is compromised.

You dont even need to do "a lot" of testing.

What you need to do is to just select represantative part of the society (up to 10,000-20,000 people in a country big like USA) and test them FOR ANTIBODIES of covid.

Later extrapolate that number to the whole society.
If you properly selected people for this probe, the results will be more or less accurate for the whole society. "how many people already had it"
This is how the statistics and polls work...
Accurate +- 5 %.

Something is up with Italian government and their involvement in this whole pandemic. Like someone gave them a lot of money to make covid seem like a death sentence. Their numbers are not in line with other countries, neither are NYC who blatantly pushed covid sick into nursing homes which then spread to everyone. Like systematic killing of elderly.

the stats that I posted were posted by the reputable and trusted Polish newspaper.
They were quoted in there from Italian "Health Institute", whatever it means. It is probably some Italian gov organisation.

I'm sorry that I didn't post the link to the Italian main source. I have problems in finding it.

There you go, found bloomberg now, probably also trusted source.

"Also" to raise suicide rates, deprive other people from medical care (cancer, other types) which has its own complications, destroy small companies and businesses, fuck up even more monetary system already in debt, give more surveillance powers to gov, give more powers to govs generally speaking, destroy millions of jobs worldwide, raise unemployment rates to crazy levels (which will lead to much more economical, psychological and sociological problems), make poor countries and people even poorer and in debt.
Also, produce even more garbage for this planet in the form of disposable masks and gloves :>

And all of that because of... See posts above...
Great success indeed :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

But yeah, I know it's so hard to see and understand all of that :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I don't really dare to share my views, because here in Hungary there were cases when 'openly skeptic' people were collected by the police.. Like in the 60s.
BUT: our current active cases in this 10mill country: 1313 or so. In my state, the tested positive number was 23 for weeks, now it is 24 since a week ago or so.

But this is interesting: 400k Woodstock festival in 6, when H3N2 killed 100million ppl around the world:

the battery would only be used when you have power failure and i can´t see the system, until you actually use the door release using much battery.

I´d expect the battery back up lasting for well over 24hrs, and the mains would usually be back online with in 12 hours :2 cents:

We've still be en avoiding going anywhere in public, and when we do we wear masks.

The article states, "1 million people globally died from the 1968 flu pandemic — which lasted into 1969-70 — including 100,000 Americans."

1 million globally over three years, not 100 million. It came in several waves and acted just like seasonal influenza, killing primarily the very young and very old. Corona might kill about the same over time, but it's more unpredictable.

Was in the grocery today. My Chinese-made mask was broken, so I put it into a garbage can. A half of customers in that grocery were without masks as well.

naughty to see the space agency talking to ISS, no one wearing masks, & all swapping the phone between each of them... :2 cents:
