Anyone here still promoting paysites? What are your conversion ratios like in 2020?

What are your conversion ratios like in 2020?

From Tubes?
Blogs?
TGPs/MPGs?
Mailing?
SEO?
Social Media?

I only have one paysite left via ccBill. It's worse than 1:5000. I push it from my blog.

Most of my income is dating/cams.

So far this year I'm doing 1:844 on average, best is 1:210, worst is 1:1609 (via CCBill), not including any with only one sale. Rebill ratio is almost 1:1 i.e. each sale on average rebills once. That's a better sales ratio than I used to get 10 years ago but a worse rebill ratio.

This from niche tubes and directory lists but traffic is about 95% search engines.

I use all, but am not tracking the conversions from that. Since we run VOD, I am only tracking visitors vs purchases.

So, if from 1,000 visitors we get 5 purchases so the conversion is about 0.5 % . This changes with a new release where there may be 20 + purchases/1000/day ( for a few weeks). IN some other specific times down to 1 or 2/1000 when some big sport event takes place or during a " family" time Xmas and Thanksgiving.

BUT please note we have 100 % our own original content.

That's interesting. I've always gone the traditional route of full paying monthly subscribers. Have you always gone the VOD route? I have 1000s of exclusive scenes myself but never really considered that.

If you have thousands of exclusive scenes then you should start your own paysite Network. VOD could/should be an additional revenue stream. Or vice versa.

I do pretty decent still with paysite sales in smaller niches, from niche tubes and blogs.

I have two clients that use pornhub to create name-awareness, and the use Bloggers in a invite-only affiliates networt to build SE traffic.

Before they switche to our solution that is partner-centric, their ratio were high 1:xxxxx

In general it dont matter if you are 1:50 or 1:1000 because the cost pr lead can be so different its hard to build a predictable businesscase. We focus on ROI and approach affiliates as partners instead

1:160 this month without tube traffic. Tube traffic converted about 1:500-800 in the past.

This is why conversion ratios are meaningless

I've been around 1:20 for the last two years. Does that help anyone else? Nope.

Since we launched for real (in 2004) we ONLY had VOD and DVDs. DVD was then about 80 % of our business, download ( there was no streaming then) about 20 %. Today it is reversed 80 % streaming and 20 % ( maybe a bit less) are still DVDs. No longer downloads.

When we launched we had about 10 movies. Today we have about 50 +. We shoot and release about 3 to 4 movies/year. These are a harder versions of what was then called " erotic thrillers". They are each a real movie with a story ( we concentrate on " chicks in chains" styled movies) , dialogues VFX and a full sound and mastering post. If we went "membership" we would soon be out of business, because we do NOT have enough material and are NOT willing to "quest" for a weekly or monthly updates. It would be impossible, since scripting, development, casting, prep etc.... takes about a month, then we shoot between 6 to 10 days ( used to be about 18 in the good old days) the crew is about 25 to 30, and the post another 30 days at least.

With your content of 1,000s of scenes, you are using a volume to keep your customers signed up. If you went VOD you would likely had to charge only "pennies" per view. The administration costs and the processor's fees would kill you. If I were you I would not change your surely established membership system.

Yes, just CCbill. I'm waiting to get approved for 2 new processors now. But yeah, for the last 2 months I was only using CCbill.

well you are doing your math wrong. you need to count YOUR incoming traffic against your affiliate sales, not just clicks you send out. you're washing your stats.

a paysite, which is what the OP asked about, counts all inbound traffic vs sales. you run an affiliate site, not a paysite, so actually, your reply isn't even relevant. you are just one inbound source for the sites you promote.

Discount sites definitely have ratios like that, especially if their traffic is mostly SE. I've seen 1:9 over 30 days from one of his competitors (a pretty good amount of joins, too) a couple of times.

The OP asked about PROMOTING pay sites, then listed various methods. He didn't say "Pay site owners / managers: What's your ratio like from various sources?" How dense are you?

V's answer was spot on for the thread. You're just moving the goal posts so you don't look stupid(er).

To answer OP: I own decently sized tubes. My best ratio for March was 1:600 (AdultForce). My worst was 1:7500 (but still 6 sales, yay!).

As travesty already stated, the OP asked about promoting paysites...

Anyway... From hits coming into our sites and sales made we are 1:25 for the month of March. Ahh... So I did the numbers for March with the sponsors stats... Uniques/sales and got 1:35.

You might be wondering, how can you have more hits to the sponsors than you received from outside sources? That is because many of the surfers check out several different sites to buy before settling down on a purchase.

But still some pretty good numbers if you ask me.
