Are you for sports being played behind closed doors or wait until all fans are safe to return ??

So my team "Celtic" have been awarded the league championship again since it was agreed there was no possible way to play the remaining games of the current season. So the standings at the league table showed after 30 games of a potential 38 are final.

The new season will likely start in a couple of months as players are due back for training in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully by the time the new season begins fans are allowed back, even if not full capacity (although i'm not sure how that would work considering we sell out our season tickets year after year.

The German league resumed last weekend but i think everyone agreed, football without fans is nothing. Same goes for all sports.

I think a decision is being made in England in the next few days.

Are you happy for sports to return sooner but behind closed doors, or wait longer until large gatherings at events etc are allowed again ? Although that could be some time yet.

Crazy days, of course sport comes second to everything that's going on......but it's certainly going to be interesting to see how everyone resumes to "normality" and "when".

I am perfectly happy for as many sports to be performed behind closed doors as much as anyone likes...

Just so long as I'm not forced to watch them

The German league games at the weekend there were just, strange. All seemed like training sessions...

We are huge 49ers fans (American football).

Going to an actual game is a treat. It's an expensive all day event. The tickets we usually buy are $200 each, parking is $40, gas, easily $100 on food and drinks.... The last time we went it was an over night trip for us... It was a blast but... Can't do it too often.

I would be fine with them playing without fans watching, but that's difficult.... It's not just a matter of getting a certain number of players on the field. It's team members, coaching staff, support staff, doctors, security, ball tenders, refs, camera men....

I recently watched a couple of UFC events that had no fans in the seats. It's a little strange at first, but it was cool in its own way because you could hear a lot of things that you normally wouldn't with the crowd cheering. You could hear the fighters trash talking, their corners yelling instruction, you could even hear the breathing and effort the fighters were putting in and the ref talking to the fighters. It offered a very different look into the sport.

Just personal opinion, watching UFC 249 I feel the fighters would have fought a little harder with a crowd cheering them on and amping them up.

There is no doubt there were a few fights on the card where the crowd might have encouraged more action. Gaethje Vs. Ferguson was crazy. However, Waterson Vs. Esparza was pretty boring. If there had been a crowd they would have been booing and encouraging more action. Also, having the crowd go crazy at big moments of a fight makes it all that more exciting.

Possible the headliners didn't need as much external validation since they are at the top of their game...

It was probably just the whole package made me feel weird, like a lull in the action is just two guys doing nothing in a totally silent empty room, it didn't feel like watching an event and it bothered me

I would love to sit and home and watch football while eating an $18 hot dog that was made the day before and a giant cup of $24 beer. Calling UberEats right now.
