Percentages are one thing, billions in revenue is another. CC companies do not want to lose ANY business, trust me.

And being nice to them equals what? Saying pretty please Visa? No it means doing what they say and cleaning out any illegal shit. PH and others do that and they should be fine.

Now if Visa says no more processing of Adult of ANY kind THEN we can panic.

we can now debate whether there is a point where negative press etc outweighs the profits from processing adult, so far it obviously didn't, but since neither of us is a Visa or MC executive, I'd suggest we'll just see what happens. Of course I don't hope they drop adult overall, it would affect me as well (it did already this year when Paysite Cash died).

I am not saying anything different, my comment of "being nice" was directed at the specific post I quoted.

I agree. We are all just processing this new info (pun intended). We have to wait to see how it plays out.

My guess? Some sites will be winners from all this, some sites will be losers. I think it will depend on what kind of site is on Visa/MC's radar.

f Visa and Mastercard have banned all MindGeek and next ban the WebGroup (xVideos) sites this is a list of the production companies are apart of them:

MG - Brazzers, Digital Playground, Mile High Media, Property Sex, Babes, Twistys, Reality Kings, Fake Hub, Metro, Deviant Hardcore, Squirted, etc plus the MyDirty, Clips4Sale and ModelHub platforms

https://www.adultforce.com/client.html#/network/

Add in all the brands owned by WebGroup - Penthouse, Legal Porno, DDF, Girls Gone Wild, Private, Girlfriends Films, Bang Bros

That is over half of the content that is shot in the US and Europe and models, since models will have no work these will affect every producer as they won't be able to make a living shooting porn and will not get in the industry.
Girlfriends Films is still part of Fame Dollars / Gamma Entertainment.

With that much content, why don't you open your own site?

Could it be that you are worried because of the type of content you have?

I've been listening to this sort of fear-mongering for 20 years. They couldn't shut down porn if they tried, they are simply trying to regulate what porn is sold. The more extreme and illegal has cause to fear, the rest are fine.

I hope so as my porn career is over if I lose my tube cashflow. I will sell everything.
Your Tube income will be replaced by a paysite income. All the paysites have to do is work within the law. Those who want to make money from working outside the law have to be worried. The rest carry on as before.

All this fuzz isn't about porn. It's about user uploaded porn, which includes some illegal videos.

Visa/Mastercard never really liked that, that's why Pornhub.com never was selling memberships and processing credit cards - only PornhubPremium.com was.

This is not good enough for VISA/MC anymore after all this bad press.

Tubes will have to stick to legally licensed content that has a clear owner and producer on file, that's all.

Just a FYI but every industry has shake ups every three years. That is life.

We are forgetting one side of this in that customers want porn and neither visa or MC want the customers to learn a new way to pay for things. They will sort it out so that plastic is the accepted method.

Exactly this
All the big tubes have there premium/studio content on slightly different URLs as they know they would never get billing for the content on the free tube content they offer.

Looks like that simple workaround has now backfired.

Perhaps Mindgeek should be thankful they got hit by VMC rather than a government raid. When that article came out, I tested the searches they mentioned. Zero results. So PH cleaned that crapfest up fast. Go look for a Tracy Lords video on there. They used to all be on there. Now, not a one. So maybe that article and this situation was a blessing in disguise for Mindgeek. it obviously got their attention and they cleaned things up FAST versus ignoring it for YEARS.

I do have my own sites that are run by Gamma, but like everyone who still actually produces porn we do business with Mindgeek

This is bad for the entire industry from both a financial and public relations standpoint

See this is what exactly happened. Pornhub just got rid off all user uploaded videos without ownership to solve the situation:
https://www.pornhub.com/blog/11422

They went down from 13.5 million videos to only 2.9 million videos overnight.

Quote:
At Pornhub, the safety of our community is our top priority. Last week, we enacted the most comprehensive safeguards in user-generated platform history. We banned unverified uploaders from posting new content, eliminated downloads, and partnered with dozens of non-profit organizations, among other major policy changes (please read here for more details).

As part of our policy to ban unverified uploaders, we have now also suspended all previously uploaded content that was not created by content partners or members of the Model Program. This means every piece of Pornhub content is from verified uploaders, a requirement that platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitter have yet to institute.
An article on the change: https://www.vice.com/en/article/jgqj...videos-content

I'm sure VISA Mastercard etc will just sit on the case for a couple of months, then lift the ban since the site is clean now.

And then Pornhub will actually be able to process credit cards on their main domain too, possibly.

I agree. The public outrage spotlight can only last so long before attention moves elsewhere. Provided they stay clean, they'll probably have full processing capabilities back in the near future.

All of my videos stayed on PornHub and ModelHub this week.

It helped to meet the staff in person at AVN Amsterdam and XBIZ Berlin, both in 2017, so they knew who I was.

"I'm sure VISA Mastercard etc will just sit on the case for a couple of months, then lift the ban since the site is clean now."

I doubt this. The Visa ban will be permanent. Last year PayPal (via Epoch) terminated its relationship with PH - I expect Visa to do the same. The faux-incest videos could be a problem going forward...for many sites. Visa added incest to their Core Rules and Regulations of prohibited content only last year. Will see how this develops, but there is no chance Visa is going to restore processing. Half of MindGeeks revenue has just vanishing, overnight. Sad.
