Pornhub Just Purged All Unverified Content From the Platform

Pornhub is removing all videos on its site that weren't uploaded by official content partners or members of its model program, a fundamental shift in the way one of the largest porn sites in the world operates. This means a significant portion of its videos will disappear.

I have been getting emails for some time now from MG, going over previously my uploaded content that PH, Visa or whomever may have found objectionable. My response was always: Just take it down.

With all the changes happening I think it's best to comply with whatever new rules PH and others set forth. Income and revenue coming in is the key here to weathering this storm.

I hope that it helps all of the content producers and models that shoot legit content. I hate to see people have all of their eggs in one basket. At anytime any platform can disappear as fast as it showed up when there is legal trouble.

Awesome! That should strike a blow to the PH ecosystem of parasite tubes filled with PH embeds.

OMG!

You mean no more amateur fuzzy shit with diseased looking dregs in it.

How will the world survive?

PH probably will get 10 times more traffic for taking that shit off.

That kind of content should be purged from online porn altogether . . .

right they've probably seen this coming for years which is why they've invested so heavily in getting verified amateurs to sell/monetize content on their platform

they might actually get that 10x more traffic when the other big tubes are forced to follow suit with content purges and verification requirements while pornhub is 5 years ahead of them with their content acquisition strategy

I doubt it. There's going to be a major change in SERPs, as these deleted pages are replaced by other results. Also, the feeder traffic and backlinks the big tubes have been getting from parasite tubes with embeds will vanish, as those smaller sites become unprofitable.

I assume they will not work for deleted vids - What you will need to do depends how you set it up...

If you run your own db of scenes then you should be using the deleted scene dump anyway and that should fix any issues - Emphasis on SHOULD!....

It will a LOT bigger than normal so you might have to do it manually if your script normally does it...

I haven't even looked yet so this is all 'in theory'.....

I'm one of those parasite tubes with embeds (one of the most successful) and trust me, I'm not worried about becoming unprofitable or going out of business.

I'm expecting to lose a lot of SE traffic (my content is gone for a shit ton of keywords I was ranking for) but the game's not over.

I suspect that tubes (and their aggregators) will still continue to dominate most of the keywords they currently do -- but users will get to the tube and the experience won't be quite as engaging as it once was. More of them will end up paying for premium content. Potentially driving more revenue for all of us.

Granted this is a huge win for tubes who don't give a shit about the rules (cough tubecorporate cough) but Pornhub is THE place for amateurs to monetize their content, which will allow them to remain dominant.

like happened years ago, maybe we are seeing another big change in adult industry? when text sites became obsolete and come the thumb tgps, and after that the tubes and all its free controversial and polemic content

can this be other change in how the FREE content is distributed? and how will be reacting xvideos, xhamster, txxx and other tube sites?

They deleted more than 10,000,000 videos (76%) and still counting i.imgur.com/1OSWH1o.png They're pissing off a lot of users, including verified ones pornhub.com/blog/11422#comments_top I went to check the recommended video section and it was only 2 pages with full of bs videos.

Not sure if this is a smart move. Amateur/user generated content demand is a huge part and it's what makes Pornhub today. Even if PH is the biggest, it's still just a porn site. There are million of porn sites out there and users will just go to whenever they can watch, download and upload without any hassle.

Fuck yeah! the number of deleted videos we uploaded to PornHub: 0
I do welcome this step, all other major tubes should do the same.

I also run a tube with embeds but from Xvideos. If they stop allowing it then fuck it il do something else. As others said, those big fuckers like Pornhub are filthy rich off of stealing content and others hard work. Hopefully a lot of content producers/owners start seeing their incomes go up

The vast majority of content from unverified users was garbage or pirated. Clips of videos that are already on the site courtesy of the content producers, rips from live cam shows, shitty vertical POV sex videos shot in the dark on a 7 year old phone and a whole lot of stuff that wasn't porn.

It's a big change and it's fresh, so of course there's a lot of "concern", but give it a little while and all the whining will go away. Remember the early days of Facebook when they'd change the layout and for two days, your feed was nothing but people crying about the new layout and saying they're closing their accounts?

I'm one of those parasite embed sites, and I also view this as a good thing. My long-term game plan has always been to move into original content once I get some traffic and a little startup income, and all I see is that being accelerated now. This is a positive for everybody.

I don't agree with the first part. Some of the best videos on Pornhub are those "shitty" amateur videos. If you don't realize that a huge number of people are not into professional porn then it's okay. We just don't have the same opinion. We know that 70 percent of all searches performed online consist of long-tail keywords, and I think it's the same or similar in the adult industry. People have millions of different fetishes and I'm doubt those studios and verified users can cover all, if not just a few.

As I mentioned, even Pornhub is the biggest, it's just a porn site. It's not Facebook which you don't really have better alternatives, and the Facebook change it was not a really big deal. Users don't depend on Pornhub. They don't have social relationships there. They go to Pornhub, watch porn and go. And they can do that anywhere else. This Pornhub's core change is on a completely different level. A little more appropriate example is probably Tumblr.

Anyway, it is not about Pornhub to me. In short term this looks good for other sites and there are opportunities. However, in the long term it is not known. What I'm really concerned about is what else organizations like National Center on Sexual Exploitation or Exodus Cry / TraffickingHub (the guys behind all of this) would do with porn sites in particular and the adult industry in general. A giant like Pornhub have to change. What about other platforms? What about Google and other big social medias? Those are giving us traffic? I may be a bit pessimistic, but I see a rather tough future for the adult industry. So I wouldn't be too happy.

Yes, this. If you step away from things, and look at the really BIG picture - It's always been like this. I got into it when it was 'Stag Loops' shot on cine film. Then video came along and no one wanted cine film anymore. Then after video, came DVD and the web. Shortly after the web got established and people got faster internet, DVD and video became obsolete. Pornhub cornered the market by taking all the stuff that had been professionally produced and making it free. Soon, with the advent of phone cameras etc, talent could start to create their own content, clipstores, onlyfans, or do cams etc...

It's always been constantly evolving, and I just see that pornhub getting a short sharp reality check and having to curtail 'Business as usual" is just another small part of the ever evolving tapestry of adult entertainment.

Something else will be along shortly. Stand by to jump aboard
