Accepting crypto Bitcoin/dogecoin on paysite join page

So I’m thinking to add crypto as a way for customers to pay for membership

I know there are probably some billing companies accepting crypto... but why not just post the QR code and address for one of my wallets and instructions to email a screenshot of the payment and what the customer wants their login to be, and I add it by hand

Or how did dread pirate Roberts do it? Make some script?

Customer clicks buy pay button --> Your wallet creates a new address for each payment, and returns that unique address back to the customer.

Customer makes the payment to that unique address --> your script/site should validate if the payment to that address has been made --> If the transaction is confirmed, (update your database or something) to give the customer access to the content.

BTCPayserver is a self-hosted solution.

Or go with something like Coinpayments or SpankPay.

I am interested in SpankPay, because they are pursuing NFT selling.

No

Crypto is not designed for recurring billing. You can't do it with any of the majors. The only one that does recurring is PumaPay as far as I know. And what's the point of setting up to bill customers with PumaPay if they'd have to jump through all kinds of hoops to set that up. If the point is BTC or ETH, no recurring.

That's why we don't take payments in Crypto on my primary sites that have a recurring billing model (though I am considering allowing these payments for long-term discount memberships, like buying a 1 year...)

Getting set up right now to use CoinPayments on a new site. I'm going crypto only without visa/mastercard. I want to see what I can do with it. They offer transactions with many coins.

They are one of the oldest gateways. Works easy and simple to integrate but the system is also not very advanced nor comes with all the bells and whistles

I signed up for Spankpay and Coinpayments. I think setting up the kind of payment system I want is simpler with Coinpayments technically. Now Spankpay is good too and relatively new but only accepts about 4 coins, Coinpayments accepts about 110 if you want that. I will probably whittle that down to maybe 10 of the most popular. If I were doing member sites, I would use this for yearly memberships only and not worry about rebills. My two cents.

BTC LN makes Doge and all alts irrelevant for method of payment. Few understand or have dived into Bitcoin learning enough to realize this, especially rare on GFY
