Is it possible? Yes.
Is it likely? No.

However, what I do see as a likely, real possibility is that being able to monetize it effectively being stripped away. As in, credit card companies just pulling out completely. Even cryptopayment gateways are washing their hands clean of it.

This would leave the only way of monetizing it to those that can actually build their own crypto processors. And you need some serious know-how to do that.

The average person does NOT use bitcoin or any other digital coin.

Many people who have crypto, have got it to hope to get rich, rather than use to buy things, as such, even those with it, will not buy. On top of that you have a zillion crypto coins.

The problem is, that it only takes a single site, who does something even slightly dodgy, and it will bring everything down.

It could be such as pornhub, where they have had claims made about them.

It could be onlyfans. Lets say one day someone under 18 managed to get around there age check (say a 17 year old) and has thousands of fans, who in turn may be prosecuted for accessing her pics and vids.

Its the day you wake up and find a porn site is front page of the news for doing something not right.

We have already had a few sites plus pornstars in the news and prosecuted for doing illegal activities. This just gives people ammo.

I think you are right, in the reasons why they want to ban it and why they will try and how. However, I still am not sure about whether it is a sure thing that it shall get prohibited, for there is the hope that we win the battle, and specially, I think there is much more popular support and acceptance of pornography than it ever was, mostly because it is much more accessible and common than it ever was, and people will not like to have to give away one of their favourite ingredients that they use to make their life delicious.
