What are you using to backup your work computers?

Wondering what everyone is using.

I have a Samsung 1TB internal back up and a duplicate 1TB external backup redundancy using a CloudBerry Backup to schedule.

i do all my work on a remote server so the only thing that needs backup is ssh keys

remote server has a once-per-day cronjob that tars up the home directory and copies it to S3

Same here. I love Apple's Time Machine. It works really well. And like you, I use an external SSD.

What some people may want to do is to have a local backup of course, but also setup an offline backup with the service provider of choice. This is decent disaster recovery. The cost will depend on how much you back-up of course.

I have to build another server but I need to run a 30 amp line. I don’t know if I have that much overhead left in my panel

I had to run dual 20-amp lines upstairs when I built my server room in my house. Was running 30 servers at the time.

The sad part might be realizing that this is an entire industry that I call "wealth" videos.
It makes up a lot of youtube recommended videos, and it's all about budget to either destroy or experiment with something extreme.
The bar for creativity is really low; just burn something down or just fuck it up.

"Joe Blow" doesn't have money for a shredder and used laptops to destroy; so
it's a "rich boy's" profession.

I've become annoyed with such videos because they highlight how people with money don't
need much brains to keep raking it in by tearing other people's inventions up in shredders, blowing it up, shooting it up; just destroy shit.

I know I could use a standard hard disk and save some money but I like the fact that my desktop environment is completely silent. No fan noise, no HD noise. Just bliss… and Heavy Metal when I need to code extra hard.

I was told that you should ALWAYS image your hard drives incase something went wrong. I've been snapping images of my drives regularly for years so I'm always protected.

I've been looking at one of those! Do you like it? How many drives do you find you need in the NAS or do you offload older backups to regular external hard drives to archive?
