Out fo all chart types, which one would be your favorite?
My would be "doughnut" (or someone would call it pie chart) , because i think it's fastest way to access necessary information compared to others. Tho, i depend it depend on how many information you need to show.

different charts for different occasions

the doughnut, or pie chart is very effective when showing a few different products or types and what´s being used.

I like the line bar for daily details if showing data over time on a timed basis

My favourite chart for all occasions is the bristol chart

Depends on the data but I like line charts.

What I don't like is dashboards that want to give you charts instead of numbers. I like numbers.

That's funny, i though i am only one who more prefer text then charts
