Is it safe for battery lifetime to let laptop plugged-in while the battery is 100% charged

			Hello all

I heard that leaving laptop plugged-in (when you are working with it of course) while battery is 100% charged is bad for battery health and will cause damage for it in the near future. others say that this habit can only cause damage to old computers battery because the new ones especially with Lithium battery have some built in technique that prevents the battery from overcharging when it reaches 100. So my question now is can I leave the laptop plugged-in while it is 100% charged since I always prefer to work with it plugged-in and I do not even need to use the battery but I still do not want to damage it (the battery), or I should plug out it whenever the battery is 100% and work with it until the battery is low again, I hope someone with experience give us a clear answer for this question that am sure many of you have already wondered about it. My Laptop model : HP ELITEBOOK X360 1030 G2 i7 Battery type : Lithium ion |

Well, my old laptop battery did die, but was cause of it because i had it always on dont know. I think same possible problem is with cellphone battery as well, but again they say how modern batteries are "smart" and they dont get damage as the old ones. My new laptop which is now 2 years old does not show battery problems yet and i also hold it 100% time charged.

Oh for the days when you could just pop your battery out and run on power, then slot it back in, fully charged, when you wanted to take it out and about...

My friend says I should unplug the charger at 100%, but I do not do it, so now I have to buy a new laptop. Macbook, you win.

I have plugged all the time on my Macbook Air and the battery is still alive! I had a Macbook Air 2015 and had 122 cycles on my battery and when I use it without a plug, working for hours.

My phone (Android...something) have an option to set the battery to only load to 85%. If it's available for phones then there must be some setting/application that can do the same for computers.

..... ... .. . Because when the cord is in it shouldn't have to use power from the grid to the battery and then to all the components in the computer.. right?
