Tolkien’s legendary saga is coming back to the big screen. The development of a new movie from the universe of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ has been confirmed, with it focusing on the story of one of the most important characters in the plot: Gollum. The studio has already revealed that it will be called ‘The Hunt of Gollum’. Andy Serkis will not only return to the role as the protagonist, but will also get behind the cameras as director. Although it still does not have a release date, Warner Bros. intends to bring it to theaters sometime in 2026.

Peter Jackson will also participate in the film as a producer, along with his usual scriptwriters: Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.

I'm not a fan... I watched all of the LORT movies but I couldn't get lost in its world for some reason.. they are incredible technical achievements though....

Congrats to Andy Serkis. The man is a legend.
