Could be SFW version of content be a solution for age verification?

What if edit out all NSFW content from the promo and show only SFW version to visitors from age-verification states? Instead of blocking them

Then you will only do age-verification for those who are willing to pay, which decreases overall price drastically

Of course as a post-production company we could help you with it. Now we are looking ways to reduce the price to the minimum for this type of work.

In my opinion, it would be hard to build significant traffic for a SFW site that promotes porn sites.

But there might be some use cases for SFW trailers for social media

This solution mostly for the pay sites
Something like SFW Tour

Traffic will accumulate on sites beyond US jurisdiction with no obligation to follow this law
But it could spread of course

Or, and this might be crazy, but a look can be taken at the political party of the governors of the states that enacted this and the industry can collectively stop voting for those guys just to pwn da libz of this liberal industry. Makes no sense to try to find ways around the stuff you vote for. You're just commiting a slower suicide. Makes much more sense to not vote for it in the first place, and survive.

Just my election year opinion of course.

That makes a lot of sense

Actually FSC made a website where you can rout the traffic from AV states
https://www.defendonlineprivacy.com/tx/

But the same way you can explain visitors why they are seeing SFW content

If I recall, way back in the early days of the Internet, paysites did indeed have 'softcore' or SFW versions. A lot of tease promising you could see "the good (xxx) stuff" inside once you joined. Too many dudes probably jerk off to tours anyway. LOL

I think it's a promising idea. Most content shoots include photos where the girl starts off clothed then does a strip and progresses to hardcore. You could post non-nudes or semi-nudes with any of the good bits blacked out.

Worth a try.

My understanding is you will still have to age verify your paid members.

We need to learn from social media girls
You can call it soft porn
It’s PG-13 but still hot AF

yeah, but those creators still need a platform to monetize. OF for ex uses AV. not perfectly, but it's there

exactly. teens well under 18 can get a cc if a parent or guardian co-signs

then there are those who'll just use their parent's card, most peeps don't keep their wallets under lock and key at home

having a SFW tour won't 'protect' someone underage from gaining access to the juicy stuff behind the paywall, if they have access to plastic

I put 'protect' in quotes as AV won't prevent access to hard core stuff displayed on sites that don't follow the rules. sites beyond the jurisdiction of the US courts

device-based AV seems like the most reasonable solution, more effective and without the massive risks to data privacy. but then that wouldn't aid in the planned clamp down on our industry as KM discussed above so...

That’s correct
But it’s much cheaper to AV 100 paid members than thousands of free
Price per visitor is the same

that's actually a really good point

if you do sign up for an AV service for paid members, read the contract carefully. I've read about at least one that is pretty predatory in its terms

No. AV laws are not based on what someone can see they are based on what the site actually sells or offers to its members or visitors...

SFW tours actually work semi-well on certain social media platforms. Remember, 2 clicks from porn is safe anywhere.

No, I will not show an example of how I do it.

couldn't one legally do something like a SFW tour, and then for those in the AV states they need to verify after clicking the join button?

wouldn't that technically comply with the laws as no one in those states could join without verifying? if a person in an AV state hits a wall before being able to enter payment info, that would NOT be offering adult content w/o AV, correct? unless they know how to use a VPN of course

still cheaper than verifying every visitor, or blocking a huge state like Texas

could something like that keep one legally safe/not risk their processing?

curious as to your thoughts on the above. I get that every AV state wrote their own law but is there an over-arching theme relating to SFW tours with AV prior to reaching the join page?

or in the case of free sites driven by affiliate rev, SFW graphics/ads leading to the juicy stuff the AV paywall on the sponsor sites

curious as well how this has affected cam aggregator sites. for ex, if an aff has a site featuring cb cams (not a WL), are those blocked to anyone viewing from Texas etc?

the whole thing is bullshit, we all know it's about an attack on adult and cost-prohibitive for smaller sites (which is really the aim of these govs, they don't give a fuck about protecting minors or adult user privacy)

I just think the more we learn about the specifics of each law the more effectively our industry can strategize. and yes, also fight them in court

If the models is wearing thong bikinis and such, I think it could work. I know it will work.

Ok
You can make different site or even entity for SFW tour
So this site is clean and provide just a reference, like Google

Next site (paysite) shows a paywall and only if visitor signed up you are AV them
Otherwise route them back for example

Or.....

You can have your SFW site.... and then have a subscription sign-up button... and then send your customer a new DVD every month with 5 new scenes...

If you think Democrats are coming to porn's rescue it aint happening.
