What's it like having money?

I have so much stuff I want to work on and create.... and I have the talent and brains to do it, no problem... BUT... I can't even afford to live!

What's it like being able to complete projects and stuff because you can fund your life? What do millionaires even do with their time because they can afford to do almost anything they want, at any time?

Right now to do anything in life I have to sell some winter tires, that should buy me like 4-5 days of survival! I fucking hope an 18 wheeler just fucking hits me the next time I walk to the gas station for a little liquor to take off the edge, haha!

I have so little power and wealth at 46 years old, it would require massive effort and extreme begging to even make it to the nearest McDonald's for a happy meal, that is just how powerless and broke I am

What is it like to be a millionaire? Every moment of your life, you could do nearly anything you imagine!

I used to do uploads to tube sites and other places of compilations and carefully-edited videos to blow people's minds and get them to sign up...

At the moment I can't even afford a Twitter account or a Tube Site Submitter account, I put 100% of my effort in the last few months to making videos about the homeless crisis in my province here in Canada instead of working on uploading porn!

Fuuuuuuuuck it ain't easy trying to make art these days!

With all due respect, if you can't afford to live, why are you wasting so much time on here instead of hustling to make ends meet any way possible?

It would sound so wanky to try and explain art, artistry, and the history of people who "kept it real" as hard as fuck and were poor losers while they were still alive.

So, instead, picture this, picture having a normal life and doing normal things, with normal people and regular times. Everything seems cool, right? But, maybe, there is a little tick in the back of your mind, and every so often you think you see a shadow duck into a corner, in the corner of your eye, but you brush it off. Years go by, everything is perfect, but as the time ticks on, something lingers, there is a strange calling you hear and it comes back over and over again. It is a dark urge that speaks to you on a level like no other, and is asks, no, demands that you listen and give in. And, whether you really make the choice or not, you gave in and started just going with it. New heights achieved, the sparkles of the fireworks like bridges burned and casts poured!

Dismiss your own Earthly notion of being "a real adult human being" and just picture yourself as a spiritual being having a human experience, what then? If you played yourself as a character, what would you make yourself do?

I'll tell you what my spirit craves right meow... imagine, picture this, imagine having a friend that you could fly to L.A. and meet them there, and you could buy this car:

...and over the next week, live stream the road trip from L.A. to New Orleans, ending up on election night at my baby momma's in New Orleans, streaming the whole week showing crazy footage from the last 4-12-20 years. What a blast that would be! Many people entertained!

But I don't have the money nor any friends on any similar vibe, to do that road trip or the GFY-adjacent live stream leading up to the election. That's why I made this thread, because I can't believe there is not one millionaire GFY'er out there that is planning on doing a livestream coming up leading to the election for all of us to hang out on. That would be so fun, and, no matter who wins, we all ride the ups and downs together. Just sucks that I don't have the money to put together something that would be fun for so many people!

Maybe someone will read this thread and decide to put on an awesome stream of the run-up to the election with all of the highlights of America and everything patriotic over the last decade, and then people can choose to be happy regardless of the outcome. Wouldn't that be cool?! I'd do it but my video card died AND I'm -$400 in the hole on my rent! If none of you ballers can donate to my ass to make the super cool GFY stream going, then someone else has got to step up and do it. I don't have enough money to keep getting drunk to demand a GFY stream leading up to and including election night.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

TLDR: Is anyone going to make a GFY election stream? I'm currently too broke

I can make some great video edits and compilations.

Maybe I need to make and show off a porn music video on here, I haven't tried to do that yet.

You are not less of an artist if you spend some of your time doing whatever will help keep body and artistic soul together.

A part time warehouse job could make you not hungry.

Do you have a portfolio of your video editing online you can link here?

What? That answers none of my question lmfao.

Also only weirdos care so much about the election. The rest of us will do our duty of voting and not arguing with other weirdos online about it, and especially not wasting our money to live stream the garbage.

You need to get your priorities straight bro.

Having rent paid should always come before anything else, even hobbies. It's the least you can do to claim not being a lazy pile of shit.

You're assuming millionaires have no problems or have tons of expendable funds available... they don't. The more you have the more bills you have plus taxes. The ones I know complain daily about how they need more to afford what they have plus they always want more.

now- outside of government emergency funds available to you

https://www.canada.ca/en/services/be...plication.html

https://eafrelief.ca/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsoe5BhDiARIsAOXVoUvf2q 50Xav6Dfwo2tfmh9Z_qThU6UnYLVX3NMfTQOLfqAvDJNbCdooa ArPLEALw_wcB

NOTE this is ontario but they have to have one in BC
https://www.ontario.ca/page/apply-emergency-assistance

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/g...sis-supplement

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/s...y-programs/ess

not to mention there are churches that have emergency funds set up to help people along with other organizations even Shriners.

welfare can help and there are so many counsellors there to assist you.

Media outlets also require video editing skills and those who can use a camera along with so many

Hello - even onlyfans models require help on that area. check on another board for that - dont rely on GFY ONLY for this.

Right now in the GFY job section there is a requirement for "Hiring a Video Editor for US Based Gay Studio"

https://gfy.com/gfy-jobs-and-service...ay-studio.html

You could also put your ad on the job section as well and other boards listing your talents and qualifications.

Think outside of the box - do shit you don't feel comfortable with until you get enough that you can start your own dream job. it will work out

Imma have to quote P-diddy

Im gonna answer in a different way. What you are really saying, money aside, is that you are a creative person, with drive and ambition and talent, with all these ideas that you are sure will be a success and earn you huge sums of money...

However, you don't feel that you have the funds to bring your ideas to life...

Nothing wrong with that - Solution is to think smaller... Refine some of your ideas, and instead of thinking of them in their 'full fat' version (Your Ideal Version) that will bring you thousands and thousands of dollars - Istead do them in a 'cut down' version - A 'Lite Version' - and see if you can generate $100 from it? If these are truly worth doing, they would generate $100 for sure...

If your ideas are any good to begin with, then by default they can also be scaled. I agree that not everything can be scaled UP... But... Pretty much everything can be scaled DOWN...

There's a line in 'The Great Rock & Roll Swindle' film, that goes 'Dont think in Tens, think in Hundreds & Thousands of pounds' - But Im talking about the exact opposite of that...

In other words, as an example, if I have an idea for a motion picture that will be a worldwide box office hit, but its gonna need a budget of millions to produce and big name stars like Tom Cruise etc attached, then I'm pretty fucked, cause I cant raise that cash, don't have Toms phone number, and if I tried to sell the idea to a studio, I'd probably just get ripped off...

So I would scale the idea right back to basics, and create it for youtube, using a phone and a few mates. If the ideas good, Id gain traction - Likewise if someone stole the idea later, Id have dated evidence I did it first...

So in other words, follow your dreams, dream your destiny, but don't try and make a fortune straight away - Just make a small return - Gain an audience - Leverage your audience. Defy the logic of alphabets for nothing is impossible...

Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

TLDR: Is anyone going to make a GFY election stream? I'm currently too broke
You've already received some good advice here and I will share some that you may find useful

1. You are Canadian. Even if you were American, you shouldn't obsess so much over the circus that is the US Election. You are wasting time and energy on something toxic that won't benefit you in any way, aside from some temporary dopamine spikes while getting into it with people online regarding politics.

2. I can speak first hand about your question "What's it like?". It's pretty much the same shit. The saying "money doesn't buy happiness" is bullshit, because it's pretty hard to be happy when you're drowning in bills and not able to make ends meet. That said, past a certain point (once your basic needs are met and some discretionary spending budget) it doesn't make much of a difference. The brokest point of my life was during the time I was active on GFY. I was 17 years old though, so it was a good learning experience and life lesson when it comes to doing business and dealing with people.

You can make a decision to improve your situation, but you need to commit. Don't reply to this with some nonsensical multi paragraph thing about art and whatever else. I will give you some advice and you can take it or not, as someone who was in your shoes at one point.

1. You probably drink and smoke weed a lot. Quit both. You're not going to go anywhere in life if you spend monday-friday waiting for the weekend to get fucked up.

2. The best way to level up in life is to use your network. Do you know anyone who is doing well, and running a business? Ask them if they have any opportunities for you. Can you get an entry level job at their company? Do they currently use any services that you can do for them instead? An example of this would be if they use local freight companies for orders. Ask them if you can do the deliveries for them instead. If you're known to be drunk all the time nobody will give you a chance though.

3. Your first priority should be to kick the booze/drugs and get enough money to live. Get a bike and do ubereats/doordash or something just so you can at least have your basic needs met. Then you can work on building something.

4. Money won't automatically make all your problems go away. I retired years ago and traveled around the world. It was incredible. Then the times I was back home I was so bored and felt like I had no purpose or something to build. Felt like a pretty empty existence. You tell yourself once you hit 6 figures you'll be super happy - then it comes and it feels like the same. Then you say okay when I hit 7 figures I'll for sure be content! Then it feels the same. You need to find a purpose. Simply having money won't do shit.

The only reason I am responding to this is because I feel like I've seen this happen so much ever since Covid and propaganda has run rampant. People get obsessed with politics, and start believing that all their problems are caused by X.. Whether that is immigrants, crime, democrats, republicans, china, russia blah blah blah. Then they go off the deep end and start believing in every conspiracy they come across because they lack a sense of belonging to something. So being a part of a group that believes they have discovered "the truth" feels like a purpose. It continues to go downhill from there.

Get off GFY (especially the cesspool that is the politics section) and go do something with your life. 46 is still young. You can even get into trades like construction and be making 6 figures within a few years. Don't invest time into trying to make money in adult because it's dead for 99.9% of people. Yes there are some people who are making money, but those people would be making money in any industry/niche they wanted to because they have the skills.

I truly wish you luck because it can feel really hopeless when you're down on your luck, but you have the power to change all of that. You just gotta put in the work.

Best of luck

What's it like being able to complete projects and stuff because you can fund your life? What do millionaires even do with their time because they can afford to do almost anything they want, at any time?

Right now to do anything in life I have to sell some winter tires, that should buy me like 4-5 days of survival! I fucking hope an 18 wheeler just fucking hits me the next time I walk to the gas station for a little liquor to take off the edge, haha!

^^^that's a really nihilistic way of being in the world. I don't think you follow that Fuze. one can be well off w/o being brutal, keeping soul intact however chosen

I like money to take care of me and my future, my mom, my cat and goat and my community. don't need a fancy car, I don't even drive. a fancy house? more rooms, more to clean, and I don't want to hire anyone for that

my dirt, I'll clean it up

OP has chosen to define his life as misunderstood artist cuz easier than getting a job

re the thread, there's an elephant in the room. or pile of empties in the corner, whatever one wants to call it

so much good advice up in here, just suspect the OP isn't well enough to follow it

he knows what he needs to do, I gave him a step by step guide re the d word

til he does that nothing will change for him

Huggles, you know what you need to do. man up and do it

What's it like having money? Same as not having money because you realize the same dumb fucking idiots can exist with millions or even billions of dollars.

Hope that helps

Having money is nice because you don't have to waste time wondering where your next gig will come from. You also get more time to reflect and chill. But you also have larger responsibilities and higher expectations of yourself. So do those around you. But, overall, it's nice.

I built my largest company when I was broke. Talking $44 per day to start. I was 43 years old. Being broke at 43 sucked. It sucked so bad that I got very motivated to do better.

By years end I got it doing $320 per day.
The next year I ended doing $1556 per day.

And it just keeps growing.

Don't smoke pot except to turn your mind off after the day is done. Don't drink regularly. Though, some of my best content was written while drinking. But you know yourself better than anyone else does. So if you know drinking isn't going to help, don't do it.

In those first 2 to 3 years I worked 10 to 18 hour days. I rarely took a day off. I latched on to one idea and ran with it. I also partnered with somebody who complimented my weaknesses.

I hate dotting I's and crossing T's. I hate lots of things about my business. He loves them. I am an artist who needs somebody to refocus me. He's a straight up kind of guy who needs somebody to ask, "What if? And why not?" To break the rules once in awhile. To fuck around and find out.

Is GFY a place of business? I wouldn't have known him without it. So, yeah. It is.

Hi Huggles,

Sorry to hear about your predicament. I gave you some advice last time which you kinda threw back at me, but I'll repeatit here and hope you re consider it.

1. Spend less than you make. Cut everything unessary like Booze, cigs, drugs, etc. YesI get they can be addictive but thats a weak excuse.

2. Spend less time on GFY, especially the Political thread. It can be toxic. Spend less time on other social media like Facebook and Twitter. They are addictive.

3. You are in Adult. You are smart. You made money once before, and you can do it again. If the old way of making money in Adult won't work for you anymore, try something new. I moved from building websites, to making content, to making technology. It's ok to move around in a field that you enjoy.

4. Start. Just start. I started in adult when I was less than broke - I was $20k in debt. It took years but I made a shit-ton of cash and now live with a very comfortable home and a couple of cars, all paid in full, with lots left over in the bank. If I can do it, anyone can.

Pick your ass up off the ground.

And also if you want, I would be willing to help you out with some free coding and hosting if you want. No strings attached. PM me.

Cheers.

m

Great fucking reply and very validating for me as I'm in the same boat.

I was doing great, making quarter million a year from client work, spent $70k traveling in 2022 alone, accepted a $200k investment into my business, quit all client work and put $150k of my own into it, made a bunch of bad business decisions that ended up costing a lot of money, depression set in from a toxic relationship and basically wasted the last 2 years and $350k and now I'm literally living on credit cards while I bounce back. I am confident I will bounce back, but I did the same thing. I quit drinking, I stopped pittying myself and am getting my shit together and build my business back up. Found another client to pay bills and grow.

Won't ever quit weed though, like you said, it helps me unwind and shake the stress off at the end of the day, but I did scale it back to only after I'm done working for the day.

I'm putting in 10-16 hour days every day and don't let up unless it's a day I have my kid because she's a high enough priority to be able to do that.

If you want to change your situation then only you can do it and you gotta give up the shit that is holding you back and get your ass in gear.

Lets go Huggles. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

I didn't know this bro, i'm glad to hear you are working your way up again. You always had that hustle in you.

Not a lot of people know, not even close friends. Mainly because it's my own doing and I know I can get out of it, just gotta put my head down and get back to work.

Maybe I need to make and show off a porn music video on here, I haven't tried to do that yet.
