Question about Joins vs Rebills

I have a question about the dichotomy of joins vs rebills for a paysite.

I was always told that surfers JOIN paysites to see new updates and they REBILL paysites because of the totality of quality updates. Does anyone disagree with that?

So can anyone explain the best way to retain the level of joins, the best way to retain the level of rebills, the best way to increase the level of joins, and the best way to increase the level of rebills? Sorry if I didn't explain myself and my question well.

Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

its mainly about updates. members don't usually dig back into the archive that much.

the only ones i see digging back years are the pirates and heavy downloaders. make sure you aren't offering downloads unless they've been a member awhile.

videos aren't the only type of update tho. you can post a BTS pic or set, do a 1-minute update saying hi.

most people are watching a lot of live and short content these days. the old porn format of posting a video once or twice a week is a relic.

Definitely regular updates...

although, many of my new joins do look through some of my older content tbh...

yes, interaction, so the bts pics or vid, messaging is my key, many of my fans like to DM and chat with me, maybe about that day, or the vids they like and then I shoot a video for them that week of similar, so they feel as they are, special for me and appreciated

A site that updates every day will retain better than average (30-50%).

A site that never updates at all will still retain at average or slightly less (20-30%) because members forget to cancel.

I've recently overhauled my custom CMS to display not only paysite updates but Network updates as well since a Member gets access to all 95 websites when they Join. This has seen an increase in rebills by 40% but this is just the first month so we will see if these increases hold.

It also depends on what kind of paysite you are running: a solo gil site (updates and engagement important), a niche site (updates less important as enthusiasts will mine your archives), a general porn site (B/G sex etc, updates are crucial because there's nothing particularly distinctive about the generic content).
