Are you sure it wasn't a Condor? Their wingspan can reach nearly 10 feet.

There's a seriously huge group of hawks near my place since it's a beach sanctuary for birds and without fail, once per month, someone has to put up a missing cat poster but no one has the heart to tell them what really happens with hawks and cats.

My parents still live on a farm and yet I had to explain this to my mom a few years ago when her little ankle biter she got just disappeared after letting it outside.
