Will stopping 3 day trials reduce chargebacks?

Has anyone previously doing trials removed them and found their CB levels improving?

I feel that the negative option conversion of a trial is far more likely to result in a CB than someone who just forgets to cancel their monthly account.

If you did this how did it affect CB's and your bottom line?

Removing trials will usually increase chargebacks.

When people have problems with your site (for whatever reason) they are more likely to do a chargeback if they were charged 34.95 than if they were charged 2.95

In additions trials increase the total amount of transactions, which is good for your transaction-chargeback ratio.

Good point about the number of transactions. As well in our case I feel we made a mistake when we diversified amongst different processors last October. It diluted the number of transactions going through our main processor, and that difference would have been significant.
