There completely right,, congress has more important issue to deal. and having government laws will just fuck it up even more.

Only way to curb spam is use preventive measures with your email client or mail server

and i ain't talking bout spamcop or spews either, fuck them.

That's too bad, seriously. Those regulations would have helped get rid of most of the scumbag mailers, and helped the responsible ones.

The only reason the government wants laws in place is so they can say they are doing something about it. So they can start to arrest people for spamming. So the average internet user can feel at ease knowing their government has stepped in, and now it's just a matter of time before all spammers are behind bars.

This is of course the morons way of thinking, and it appears all of congress actually believes this.

SPAM will be here as long as there is no technical way of stopping it. US laws don't stop people in other countries from spamming Americans. This is the WORLD wide web. Not the American wide web.

Y'know, if I was a conpiracy theorist I'ld say the reason the feds won't stop spam is because they're getting such a big take from it.

It's not a big deal. We don't need government telling us what programs to use...

If spam and worms get bad enough -- people will just use other programs...

"email" is simply old, outdated technology -- the world will move on.
