I just tried installing it for the first time today... my server has sufficient version of php, i changed the permissions i done everything in the right order and renamed the index page and added the script tag... the install ran and then the "install successful" page opened up - but er... in fucking Dreamweaver! - and I can't log in to the page for trading as again when I enter the url the page opens up in DW...

wtf's wrong?

Is the form tag pointing to your local copy of the script. I have seen a few people with dreamweaver do that with their submission forms. Textpad for windows, or vi for everything else. That is how you make a page
