301 Redirect
what would be the best way to 301 redirect domain.com/ to domain.com/index2.html
has to be google friendly too... i have some htaccess ones in front of me but i am unsure how good that piece of code is would appreciate it thanks |

I wouldn't use Rewirte for this. Try this
RedirectPermanent /index.html http://domain.com/index2.html in a .htaccess or in httpd.conf file.
