Has anyone got any experience where a content provider teams up with a webmaster/web company to produce exlcusive content?

Do these work out? What is the usual split in terms of costs/revenues?

Are you talking about a producer teaming up with a webmaster to start up adult pay sites?

If so, yes I have and we are doing well with those arrangements.

If you can provide exclusive content, I'd startup a site and affiliate program to promote your stuff. You get a % of profits, based up on exactly how much content you are providing.

Let's assume I had about 20 hours of "raw content" (inlcuding interviews, etc) that ended up edited down to as 12 "scenes" every month. What ype of "percentages" would be reasonable for me to expect, and what type of actual $ would this translate into?

it usually does NOT work out well. not saying it can't but usually those partnership deals fall flat or are moderate successes.

why? because if a program is really successful, lots of traffic, doing lots of joins per day - what sense does it make for them to cut in a partner when it's much more profitable for them to just lay out the cash for the content provider to shoot for them? Not much, so when a program does offer to do a partnership the first thing a content provider should think about is WHY the program would offer a partnership rather than paying outright for the content.

The VT/Pimproll thing is different - VideoTeam has a vast library of content, Pimproll has the traffic and expertise online - makes sense for them to team up in a partnership.

The other situation where it does make sense is when the content provider has something unique or special that the program owner might not be able to contract out or shoot himself so he's willing to offer a partnership.
If I find a girl who I believe has a chance to be the next Tawnee Stone I'm not selling her as exclusive content - not for cheap anyway - I'll be offering her to companies who can make money with her on a partnership basis.

i can't name one content provider who has made a big amount of money on a partnership basis with a program. I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand but before you enter into that kind of deal u better do alot of research and ask the tough questions of the program owner - how much traffic, where does it come from, and of course
from what monies does your % come - the definition of 'net profits' is VERY important. No different than the deals cut in Hollywood where a star or director is given a % but more often than not creative accounting turns that 'net profit' into 'net zero'.

12 scenes a month? i doubt it.

impossible to say what type of actual $ you would make - 90% of people on here will make you very little. if u hooked up with the right webmaster/program and got 30-50% u might do very well.

if they can't or won't show you hard numbers - forget it. if somebody won't show a prospective business partner any numbers then it doesn't auger well for future success for you.

So, if you were a production company which was new, and who's intial shooting schedule would have the above mentioned "output" (about 12 scenes a month, plus the "inerviews", etc to go along with them, what would you do with your product? How much revenue would you expect to take in each month?
