Third Party Processing is now categorised as Non-Compliant

We?re delighted to announce that Metacharge has completed the migration to a card scheme compliant ?direct merchant account? service model.

All Metacharge merchants now trade under their own named accounts in accordance with the latest Visa and Mastercard directives.

Third party processing is now categorised as non-compliant by the card schemes. We invite any merchant still using a third party account to apply for direct merchant status to safeguard their ability to accept card payments.

There have been various rumors about 3rd party processing being non-compliant over the past few months that i have been privy to.

Still waiting on a confirmation or rebuttal of these claims from some of the processors directly.

Regards,

Lee

It'll fuck up a few mainsteam businesses as well but then again its easy for them to get a merchant account and their C/B risk is minimal.

Let me get this straight . . . it is your contention that all 3rd party processing is now Visa an MC non-compliant?

When did this become effective?

Perhaps the folks at Metacharge or whatever it's called should research and understand the difference between third party processing (otherwise known as unregulated aggregating in most cases) and legitimate IPSP models.

Do they also have some news on Chicken Little for us all?

I agree.

Companies like paypal (for those who do mainstream things), moneybookers and iKobo help one in accepting credit cards without the need of a merchant account. Wouldn't that make them third party processors which consequently would make them non-compliant?

It's good that we got a merchant account then. Just need to activate it.

I love all the rumors about this processor and that processor. As we've seen in the past, don't count a processor out until they are truly out. Hell, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see IBill put their shit out of the can and get it back up and running.

Rumors are just that.
