What are some good "grandma" nicknames?
Since I have a baby on the way, my mom's going to be a grandma for the very first time and as part of her excitement, she started coming up with what she wants to be called.
I already call my grandmother "Nana" so that's sorta taken, and my gf's family is french so her mom will definitely be "ma mere"... do you have a special name for your grandmother? |

I had a Grandma and a Nana growing up so there was no confusion about who was who. My sister's little guy calls his other grandma 'Noma'. Whatever you decide to call them, the children sometimes make up their own anyway. My kids call my mom 'ChaCha Gramma' (my mom used to have a dog named ChaCha) and my hubby's mom is 'Jeffy Gramma' (hubby's little brother is Jeff) |

My daughter calls my mom Nonnie. She calls her other one maw-maw. (I always hated the sound of that). My step-daughter calls hers Grandmommy. It seems kinda weird sounding, but it is cute when the kids say it.

Nanny for my mom's mom -- Gramma for my wife's mom -- and Meemaw for my wife's grandmother. That's what the kids call them all. Papa is the universal name for all the males however lol.

My grandmother was Mema. (Mee mah)
She will have been gone 8 years in July. I miss her terribly. But Mema is easy for little ones to pronounce and is so cute to hear a child say. ![]() |
