Has anyone who register with GoDaddy gotten any phone calls soliciting web design and hosting?

I got some retards leaving me message each day wondering if I want to use their hosting and designers.

I haven't gotten calls about any other domains register elsewhere...

That's what you get for using a huge registrar with low margins on domains.

They have to make their money somehow.

Cheap domain registrations is just a way to build a huge customer database.

I recommend Moniker.
