Once Harper starts to do his stupid things then he'll be booted. If he pulls out of Kyoto, the rest of the world will shit on him personally.

hahaha.... no I didn't!

Well it's looking like my prediction of a minority Conservative government will happen. Damn this magic 8 ball!

Hopefully our dollar will plummet and I can get back to making more money.

It looks like it will be a minority government, and there will be nobody except the bloque for Harper to work with to keep things afloat. I think this will be a VERY short lived government, probably not event 1 full session in the house.

Get ready for it, we will all be back to "les urnes" in another year.

Good.... Perhaps the boring and tiresome Canadian Bush bashers can complain about their own leadership for a change.

Funny how liberals in both countries can't seem to win elections.

The only reasons to bash Bush ( or to bush Bash ) is because the USA sticks it`s nose in other countries business ( today was Haiti ..), and fucks up in the process the world balance... Like oil.... I pay more because of you.

If we would do the same, we would bash him also.

"Party values"?!

What value does a political party have that rips us off for millions upon millions of tax dollars, not to mention the $2,000,000,000 (that's billions) for the ridiculous gun registry.

It wasn't "just the scandal". The sponsorship scandal was only one symptom of the systemic corruption the entire Liberal party is based on.

In a way...you were right. Canadians voted based on stopping the future plans of Liberal corruption.

i don't agree with the gun registry either but the liberal party stands a lot more for personal rights and freedoms than the conservatives. there are several personal freedoms they want to take away, the obvious ones being abortion and gay rights.

everyone always goes back to how they stole billions but even then, everyone just listens to what they read in the papers. no one actually read the report, not the average voting citizen anyways.

but if your personal values are more right than left, so be it but for so many ridings to come out conservative only a year and some later it seems to me most people jumped ship due to the sponsorship scandal.

After listening to his speech, I noticed a couple of things.

First, Harper can be a very compelling speaker.

Second, part of his opening line, "Thanks for your prayers," and his closing line, "God bless Canada," sound a little too familiar and none too comforting.

every government wastes money, but at least the liberals stayed in the black. any liberal who was accused of wrongdoing was canned, the judge didn't point fingers in the sponsorship scandal.

the gun registry is part of liberal bs on gun ownership, you take the good with the bad.

The Good news is Paul Martin is stepping down!

We all know that if Jean was still at the helm of the Liberal Party....

Right now there would be a Liberal majority goverment.

I have no problem with the gun registry. My guns are registered and why not?

What I do have an issue with, or canhahaha8217;t understand is, why would a provincehahaha8230; peoplehahaha8230; want to separate themselves from Canada? I mean, it is Canada!

I would really love to hear the reasoning for that!

This is just a trial run for ol Harper, Canadians didn't vote for Harper they voted the Liberals out and they will have a strong opposition in store for them. They didn't get the landslide majority they thought they would and for good reason. This guy has over promised and will seriously under deliver and his social views don't mesh well with Canadians.

I find it very interesting that the Conservatives failed to get key ridings in all major City centers that have the most economic impact in Canada, like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver etc. He won with the rural vote and the prairies with the support of all the old Refrom members "cue the deliverance banjo".

If Canadians want to read the book on Political corruption I suggest they read the book on Brian Mulrouny and his term as PM as a Conservative, too bad we did'nt live in the information age then ;).

See you back in the polls in 07 *S*

Amen brotha....the reform party rides again...wheres my shotgun at?

damn...i only ever vote liberal..they just need to clean their act up a bit

Paul Martin stepping down is a bad idea I believe.. He's a very articulate speaker, much better than anyone else that was running.

The running tab for the gun registry is 2 Billion Dollars+ to register hunting rifles and has done absolutely nothing to rein in the spread of handguns in this country. LOL... ya, that seems worth it.

Are you a criminal? If your guns are registered, I can only assume not. Most law abiding citizens WOULD register their guns. Show me one criminal who would do the same. So what what the whole point?

It's very similiar to all of the restrictions they'd like to place on the adult industry so they can help catch child predators. Guess what? A child predator isn't going to comply with any NEW laws, if they're already breaking a bunch of old ones.

Kyoto is bullshit and SHOULD be dropped. It's a crap accord. Do some research and stop listening to the hippy scientists.

That was the ONLY right move Bush made, completely blocking Kyoto.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Liberal or Conservatives, ultimately they are politicians and crooks.

Liberals got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and are now pouting because they were sent to their room without any supper.

Worry not Liberal supporters, Harper didn't get a majority so he won't be able to start his baby eating campaign, putting a bible in every home or stuffing the homos back in the closet. We're still safe and cosy.
