how to convert MPG to REALPAYER "http" streaming.
what program to do this?
i also want to stream it for 56k users and broadband.

windows media is superior in quality to realmedia. Plus almost all computers come with windows media player built in so they do not have to download anything.

drunkmonkey is right,
windows media is definitly the way to go. Besides, the media encoder is free from Microsoft.

a Real streaming server is a LOT more expensive tham a WMP one too. even though i first mucked around with streaming with real when i started.. and i liked their flash integration and SMIL stuff.. and i've done work with Real in the last year with adult products for their gold pass area.. i wouldn't actually use them.. mpeg downloads or WM streams..

If file size is the issue, then go with real media. You can compress them slightly more than mpegs, and the quality is pretty much the same.
You gotta turn the mpegs into AVIs before real-producer will convert them. Use virtualdub to do this. http://www.virtualdub.org |
