Anheuser-Busch bought the brand, but not the brewery. Gonna make it in the states using different water.

And? It has laways been made in the states.

"Rolling Rock's roots go back to 1933 when the Latrobe brewing plant was reopened after Prohibition was repealed. "

Um prohibition was a US only thing.

This story is a bit different than what I saw earlier on the news
http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriot...910.xml&coll=1

The news had said that the sale included the brand name, logo, etc., but was not disclosed if the recipe was included. This article says it is. If they use a different water source the taste is bound to change.

Sounds like AB is keeping it from going completely extinct.

"Rolling Rock's volume has fallen 25 percent over the past two years after its marketing budget was cut by more than three- fourths, said Levy. "

Unless they plan on doubling the cost of RR I highly doubt they will ship water into Jersey, they'll use the same source as their other beers. With good work on branding they can pull a Coke and write off the % of "purists" who remember the old taste and insist it is different.

not to worried about it anheiser bush makes some good beer

and the reason why anheiser bush flocked to newark,nj to make their beer back in the day was because of the water... newark supposedly has the best tasting water in new jersey i'm sure they purify the water before using it but i guess a good base helps

i live a town or two over and we get our water from a different water shed and it's horrible i won't even drink our tap water it's fizzes and bubbles when it comes out of the tap all the fucking chlorine and chemicals they put in the water
