:stoned Couple Use AFF to Commit Sex-Tortion...

Couple Busted in Sex-tortion

Arrested for the alleged criminal sexploits were Michael Largue, 45, a financial adviser from Franklin Square, and his lover, Shawn Payne, 34, of East Hampton.

Their alleged web of raunchy wrongdoing was uncovered Sunday when a 43-year-old man contacted Nassau Police 3rd Squad detectives and said a female sex partner he met online was blackmailing him with illicit videotapes of their steamy encounters, police said.

The victim, a Nassau resident who was going through a divorce, told detectives that he met Payne through Adult FriendFinder, an online dating Web site, according to Raymond Cote, commanding officer of 3rd Squad detectives.

Cote said the victim and Payne engaged in "intimate sexual activity" on two occasions, the first occurring this past New Year's Eve.

Afterward, Cote said, Payne notified the victim that she had secret videotapes and photographs of their lusty encounters and said she would give the material to his estranged wife unless he forked over $50,000.

But a sting was arranged after the victim contacted police, and Payne was nabbed Sunday in a Herricks parking lot accepting $210 as "a down payment" from the victim, Cote said.

When Payne was collared, Cote said, she was in possession of identification of a 47-year-old upstate woman.

Detectives contacted that woman, who also was married and going through a divorce, and learned that she had met Largue on Adult FriendFinder and engaged in a sexual relationship, Cote said.

As detectives dug further, they learned that Largue had introduced the female victim to Payne. Cote said the victim wanted to protect her assets from her husband, and Payne was posing as a "divorce specialist."

The female victim had agreed to set up a bank account that Payne administered, Cote said. But rather than helping her, Cote said, Payne and Largue stole the money from the account.

After stealing more than of $51,000 from the woman, Payne and Largue then blackmailed her for more using secret videos of her intimate escapades with Largue, Cote said.

When the woman could no longer pay, Cote said, Payne forced her into having sex with at least two unidentified men for money.

"The victim is not someone who would be predisposed to prostitution," Cote said. "This is a respected member of her community."

Largue was arrested Tuesday and arraigned yesterday in district court in Hempstead on two counts of second-degree grand larceny, a class C felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Payne was arraigned Tuesday on multiple accounts including second-degree grand larceny and promoting prostitution, also a class C felony. Both were being held in lieu of bail last night.

Cote said evidence has been obtained from Largue's residence that indicates he and his lover may have victimized other people through dubious romances.

More 'swinger' scam victims step forward
BY ZACHARY R. DOWDY
Newsday Staff Writer

February 1, 2007, 9:55 PM EST

The Franklin Square man and East Hampton woman who Nassau police said met casual sex seekers on the Internet and videotaped them engaging in a variety of sex acts to extort tens of thousands of dollars now blame each other for their roles in the scandal.

The barbs flew back and forth Thursday as police revealed that at in addition to the two victims who first came forward, at least two other people have notified police on behalf of people who they believe are victims of the couple's blackmail scam, an operation authorities said was run efficiently. Police said the suspects compiled detailed ledgers, video and still images of victims, like shrewd business owners.

As police began watching more than 100 hours of footage of sex among mostly New York State residents, an attorney representing Shawn Payne, 34, of 56 Middle Lane, East Hampton, claimed she was coerced into at least some parts of the blackmail scheme that may have ensnared dozens of people, some of whom may hold prominent or powerful positions.

Police declined to reveal the identities of any of the victims, each of whom came in contact with the couple through a Web site claiming to be "The World's Largest Sex and Swinger Personals Community."

"My client may have been as much a victim in all of this as those who have been reported to be victims," said Payne's lawyer, Marc Gann of Carle Place. "She was scammed by this guy and forced to do some things. Let's just say I think any acts she may have committed were done under duress."

Gann said Payne, known online as "Gina," who faces second-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheming to defraud charges, is distressed. "She's certainly upset, but I think there's a sense of relief as well that he's been caught," Gann said.

But Michaelangelo Matera of Melville, who represents Michael Largue, 45, of 903 Oaks Dr., Franklin Square, said the opposite is true.

"There is absolutely no truth to that allegation whatsoever and the evidence we have so far is quite the contrary," said Matera. "It tends to implicate Ms. Payne much more than it does my client."

Largue faces multiple charges of grand larceny.

Largue, known online as "Mr. Nice," pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead yesterday and is due in court Friday. Matera said Largue denies the charges against him.

"He's definitely claiming that what has been portrayed so far is not the truth," Matera said.

As Largue and Payne, who police said were once lovers, took jabs at each other, police maintained that neither of them is a victim, and that they both preyed without mercy on "swingers" and casual sex seekers they met over the Internet.

Nassau's Third Squad received at least two calls that could potentially prove helpful in the sex-extortion plot investigation, said Det. Lt. Ray Cote.

He said the callers told investigators that they knew victims in the case and called on their behalf. Police have not yet confirmed whether the callers were legitimate, Cote said, adding that work was under way.

Still, he said, receiving calls just hours after publicly releasing information about the plot Wednesday is a good start.

He maintained that dozens across New York State were victimized.

"The two calls we got are significant," Cote said. "It is going to be gradual and it will take a lot of time to go over all the information we uncovered so far. We're convinced we will have additional victims coming forward in the near future on their own ... or by contact from us."

Some of the victims identified by police have been reluctant to come forward.

In the quiet cul-de-sac in Franklin Square where Michael Largue grew up, neighbors steadfastly declined to utter a word about the man who lived on Oak Drive all his life.

"I can't say anything about that -- I won't," said one next-door neighbor, who declined to give her name.

At 903 Oak Dr., a red-brick, single-family ranch-style house where police said Largue lived, a man who answered the door quickly said, "No" before shutting the door on a reporter.

Largue had also lived at 12 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre, according to court records, but residents there also declined to comment.

LMAO at the $210 down payment on $50k.

But I guess if the criminals were smart, we wouldn't be reading about them in the news.

just kind of sums up how much damage this type of operation is to the regular porn industry... don't promise the wanker any more than a good wank. AFF is a drain on the industry itself and this sort of thing is a minus to normal pron sales.

don't promise the hapless surfer w/ his dick in hand something more than you can deliver, +++..!

Former Oiler 'saviour' in sex scandal
New York Internet fraudster tried to exploit victims in sex videotape scheme
By AJAY BHARDWAJ, SUN MEDIA

EDMONTON -- A decade ago, he billed himself as the saviour for the Edmonton Oilers.

Now a scam artist who tried to buy the then-struggling team has landed in the middle of a New York sex scandal after cops arrested two people for videotaping sexual escapades and trying to extort money from their victims.

Michael Largue, 45, tried to purchase the Oilers in 1998 before he was found to be a charlatan.

"There was nothing to compete against, the guy was a bit of a phony, a fake," said Oilers ownership group chairman Cal Nichols, adding he wasn't surprised by Largue's latest legal battle.

Largue was charged yesterday with second-degree grand larceny, while Shawn Payne, 34, was charged with second and fourth-degree grand larceny, promoting prostitution and first-degree scheming to defraud.

Nassau County cops say a 43-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman met two suspects on a "friend finder" website and met them in hotel rooms where they videotaped a sex romp.

Cops allege Largue and Payne then threatened to reveal the tapes to the victims' families unless they coughed up cash.

The woman paid $46,500 US, while the suspects demanded $20,000 US from the man, said police officer Thomas Brussell of the Nassau County police department.

"He was smart enough to call the detectives to watch the exchange," said Brussell.

While detectives frequently come across Internet sex fiends preying on children, it's uncommon to find adults taking advantage of other adults, Brussell said.

"Use common sense," said Brussell.

"You don't know who these people are. On the Internet, you can be anybody."

Cops recovered $19,900 and video equipment, videotapes and computer discs. Investigators said they believe there could be many victims, based on the amount of equipment they seized.

A big-talking Largue, who sold himself as an international investment banker and former pro hockey player with all kinds of contacts, flew into Edmonton in 1998 and looked into buying the Oilers and keeping them in town.

He said he represented a filthy-rich Swiss banker named Lester Mittendorf, who had $100 million US to spend on a hockey team.

Mittendorf didn't exist.

Nichols said the Oilers ownership group was wary of Largue right from the word go.

"It was very clear he wanted the local contingent to take all the risk, but he wanted the control," said Nichols.

As soon as members of the ownership group met Largue, they knew something was up.

"One of our guys said 'we didn't just fall off the turnip truck.'"
Good thing AFF isn't liable for all of the fake and fradulent people on their web site.

One might wonder if they really care if they finance and cater to content thieves and other con artists through their service as long as they make a buck?

You cant blame AFF. It's not like they built their site to accomodate scammers. It would be like blaming GFY for being scammed by registered members of its board.
