seagate and western digital was the way to go 8 year ago all my new computers have maxtor hd and I never add problem yet (I'm touching wood right now)...
dvd is good way to back up your thing it's up to you now |

I mean im buying new stuff. Just asking for a good hard drive brand. Everyone say maxtor.
Trying to figure if I need a new dvdr, hmm.reasons?

Get an enclosure and put a samsung drive in it. You can get 800GB of storage and this enclosure for $370. Drives can be popped in and out hot so if you need more space you just pop in another drive. you can also put bigger drives in to begin with if you want but then you are looking at $500 for 1TB.
