Not much you can do with cobalt systems. What are you paying in hosting anyway, just get a linux box. Let me know if you need prices.

Make sure all your patches are up to date if they aren't already.

The latest one there is the Apache / SSL fix.

Limit the 3rd party scripts you might be using, and make sure all of the ones you do use.. are kept patched.

You can depend on other people, you just have to make sure that you find the right people to depend on. Most of the people who run big money web companies, adult or non-adult, don't secure their own servers - they're too busy doing other shit. You just have to find the right people to work with who know what they're doing. Also, remember that no server is 100% secure no matter what you do, unless you unplug it. :-)

yes....

get a linux box and turn on the AUTOUPDATE script!

so it will install the last RPMS everyday for you....

this is the #1 feature to turn your box more secure...

the #2 feature is to remove the ports from the services file you don´t need....

Just found out that one of my webmasters in Beta Brigade had the same defacement done last night.
And he found this... looks like the assholes were extremely busy!
