I wouldn't recommend anyone come into this biz now. So, Yes, It's too saturated. Any Noob thinking they are gonna be a millionaire coming into this business right now better have some model under their belt that no one else has thought of and everyone else needs.

In my opinion no, this is absolutely the worst industry to enter blind, uneducated and experienced on, and so forth. Knowing what I know after 10 years I would and do tell people that approach me to save their 20k they have to invest and go put it on black in Vegas. They have a better chance in Vegas.

Noo I wouldn't say that, there is always room for new people, just like in anything else though its going to take hard work. I'm new and I'm doing alright, at least I'm seeing some pretty good growth and making enough to pay the bills, and I see room to keep going and make even more.

Not sure why anyone wants to invite people into a party where the pie is cut between so many people already anyhow. I truely don't believe that new people are going to be the tycoons they feel they are when they get the idea. Shit, just last week I was out and some guy was drunk pitching me how he has 50k and wants to start a porn site. The moron thought that he could shoot content, set it all up, get traffic too it, (affil and consumer), and was gonna be a millionaire in less than 4 months.

As far as competition I personally don't really worry about that stuff.

This industry is still in its infancy. Saying there is no money in it would be like telling the Dodge Brothers not to build cars in 1931, you know, cause Ford had shit on lock, and nothing new could ever take its place.

I've said it befor, there is people who don't even OWN a computer who will own million dollar online businesses in 4 years. It happens everyday.

Easily doable.

But as others have said, you need to have done your homework. Many who ask me about this industry, even when I tell them what I did,...lessons learned... and how I make my coin.... reply to me, "That's too much work".

I find it funny an hour's worth of submitting, links, updates, etc a day is "too much work".

I find more of the new people who are trying to get into the online game are lazy, and looking for short cuts. More entertaining is they think that you are going to give them that short cut just because they say, 'hello', to you in some forum.

Almost none seem to want to read the netponds, and other resource sites out there. The vast majority do not have a fucking clue on traffic generation. Even more laughable, and you'll see a lot of this on DP, is that people realistically think they are going to get into this biz full time nickel and dimeing. Or that they can buy site's making $40,50,80k+ a year for $1000, 5000, 10,000.

If it were not so insulting, it would be fucking hilarious.

i think there is plenty of room for new people, I see new affiliates every day, and usually once a week there is some guy that I've never heard of, says he's been in it since the new year or some similar length of time and is just doing it his way and bringing home 700-1000 a week just from us and I'm sure we're not his only sponsor program.

hopefully the new people that do come in, just do things a bit smarter, don't leave any money on the table. do things a bit differently, read a little bit, observe alot more and tackle things from the surfers end and you'll do alright.

sales have been up recently, and maybe its the new guys that are defining the playing field for how sales are made.

I believe there's always room for improvements...But please, no more copycats of what's already out there...

But seriously, how can anyone say there's no more room for new comers? As many have said already, this industry is only 10-15 years old.More change is coming.

Question is: Who will adjust in time? Who will innovate? These are the real smart business persons. My guess is some of these are not even in this industry yet...

I personnaly think too many are on the automatic pilot... but that's just my opinion...

If i was serious about working 8 hrs a day to be a rocket scientist, I would still have a pretty hard time. It takes more then just the will to work (as you know I'm sure) so the question isn't really indicative of what could be expected.

Some people will just get it, some just won't.

Now if the guy in a bar, knew some html, and understood the basics of internet traffic or developement, and wanted to get into the business with a strong work ethic, then yes I would certainly tell him he could support themselves after 6 months of full time work.

Knowing some HTML is pretty commonplace these days, I think. Traffic generation, on the other hand, is pretty particular to the industry. Still, given the right reading material and contacts...

However, your scenario doesn't cover a lot of the basics.. like you coming to the table with, or without skills, or green. Also where you live. I can live nice and easy in MI for $100,000, 75,000, or even 50k. However, that is not shit in New York, or Cali (from what I hear).
