Isnt there also such banks in Panama. Like a bank of China I mean?
Wonder if they would require a permit there, doubt it.

See if you can find a local bank that offers a multi currency account. I recently opened an account with HSBC that has AUD and USD subaccounts; I can transfer between them at will. Can also do wires in/out of either so there's no currency conversion loss, *I* choose when to convert.

Have at it, but I'd suggest reading about the Japanese Asset Bubble on Wikipedia. US$ is going to be the currency to hold on to. I don't see many people getting raises so therefore there will be less demand for items, so the price should go down just like in Japan when their housing market bust.
