Can search engines penalize you if you put too many html pages

in very short time.... i am talking about seo html pages deep in your site structure....

like domain.com/some-words/description-of-those-words.html

and all different in title, h1 tag, banners and text

Who knows... I don't write google algo's, anyone here that tells you they do know is a liar. I do know that if you slapp up a several hundred page site and then do nothing with it you won't get much love. Anyways most of my stuff still seems to get sandboxed for a year or so... so it doesn't matter to much. Perhaps you'll have better luck.

My advice... grow your site organically as if it was a work in progress and don't worry about that you won't have anything to worry about.

According to that 'Matt' guy whos something to do with google, the answer is related to the total number of pages already in your site. HTML pages, not dynamically generated php pages.

He said to count the number of pages in your site. Times it by your current google search position, then divide by the length of time your sits been online (in months)

X the page rank of your index page by 5 and divide by the number above... Then you have your result.

You can now safely add 15.5% new pages per day before google takes a shit and removes you from thier wankings...

It depends really.

Everything is relevant, there is thousands of sites that add thousands of pages (mostly useless) everyday and still hold very strong weight in the engines. Sites like youtube, myspace, wiki, craigslist etc etc. But its part of their NORMAL operation that makes this happen, for their site, its NATURAL. There is NO LIMIT to how many links OR pages you can add to a site every day. Its totally unique to each website, and more about consistency then a set amount.

Its more about the big picture then any one factor, and what you want is natural site development.

The only real answer is it depends.

Quote:
Do you plan to continually add pages forever, and be consistent in the addition of new pages?

Do said pages have relevance to your site visitors and a distinguishable theme behind them?

Do the pages each have unique but still relevant information or media that other pages don't?

Is the website user driven or clearly a one man show?

Are they affiliate type pages being added or content pages?

Is there a strong influx of inbound links that match up somewhat with the scale of the content additions?

Are your pages properly built to the engines eye? If not a small mistake is multiplied times however many pages you have added
There is probably 100 more I could ask, or would think about. Like I said, it depends.

thanks for all informations....
the info gives me few clues...
- to make a plan and follow it as much as i can
- spread the whole idea on several domains
- make groups of the html pages different from other groups
- hopefully wont get banned from google for doing the work...

Unless you have significant backlinks and continued backlink growth, 100 content pages per day is probably too much for most sites. As always, it's difficult to separate out the effects of various penalty / banning factors in real life...

Dunno.. but I generated aver 4,000 pages using some desktop software then dumped it all onto a new domain. That domain is #1 for the selected keyword, and has been for three months.

NATURAL for their site, but I bet alot of this stuff is Google doing manual tweaking to let some sites get away with it, and the rest of us end up sandboxed or penalized if we have a rapid successful site that google can't understand why... ie. if you do off internet advertising or get alot of stumble traffic and google sees a forum grow really fast that they have not been sending google se traffic too, they tend to err on the penalize side.... and I hate them because of that bullshit.

If you're doing it by hand and not vis-a-vie a software or some other "non-natural" thing, then you're probably okay.

Again, like many have said before me in this thread, we can't say anything for sure and what works for some sites doesn't for others.

However, Google likes meaningful content and sites that add value (whatever that means). So, if you're putting a lot of grunt work into creating content rich pages, I don't think Google is going to completely screw you over...

i am using a hand-made software that i very customize to look like every html page is being made seperately... and i realised that google can screw you in any case so it is worth of trying....
