CyberSocket Web Awards....you gotta be kidding me.....
First of all , CONGRATS to All Nominated!!!
But for crying out loud, why are some sites still design like this www.Stud-Dorms.com ( go to http://www.cybersocketwebawards.com/vote.php and scroll all the way to the bottom for "Best Voyeur Site " ) ???? And no affiliate program???? Check it out : http://www.cybersocketwebawards.com/vote.php See these sites for yourself.....am i missing something or these sites are so outdated? well some at least....anyways ...again Congrats but lots of potential for improvement on some of these sites....and dont say " if making money , why change it " ....cause if they are making an X amount, BELIEVE me with that kind of design, updates, new technology, marketing ideas, etc...the amount will never grow! Anyone from Stud-Dorms.com here?

I would go with that design instead of some of these newer designs that I see. A lot of sites that I see now are flashy at the expense of usability, and it doesn't matter how good your site looks if it frustrates users who can't easily navigate to where they want to go, or easily find the information they came to find.
Substance often wins out over style, especially when it comes to a website. The Drudge Report, for example, is probably as simple as they come but it's quite possibly the most successful independent news site on the web. A simple layout combined with a simple navigational system equates to ease of use, which inevitably leads to positive user reactions and more benefits therefrom. Good luck to the awards nominees! ![]() |
